The Prodigy Dome Flash Diffuser from Graslon is an optical reflector system that redistributes the light before sending it through the diffusion lens. This softens edges, reduces nasty shadows, and helps to create a much more natural and beautiful picture.

The Graslon Prodigy has rigid sliding-and-locking mounting brackets that securely fit nearly all Canon, Nikon, Sony, Metz, Olympus, Pentax, Sigma flashes, among many others. With no need for adhesives, the brackets and hook & loop tightening strap allow for a secure yet quickly removable mount.

This Prodigy comes with a dome front diffuser but is compatible with either the Graslon dome or flat diffusers. The flat diffuser is designed to be a more directional source of light to fill-in when shooting outdoors or wherever you cannot bounce the light. The dome diffuser spreads the light out and takes advantage of bouncing the light off walls and ceilings when available. Should you want both diffusers, the opposite is available and sold separately.

Universal Speedlight Mounting System
With its rigid sliding-and-locking mounting brackets, it fits nearly all camera speedlight brands. Simply set it up once for the correct size of your speedlight, then quickly and easily add or remove the duffusion system at a moment's notice.
Creates Soft, Diffused Light & Shadows
Get the benefits of the additional light your speedlight provides, without the harsh shadows and overblown highlights. This diffuser creates a larger light source than your flash, before it even diffuses that light. Then the interchangeable front diffusion lens continues to soften and spread out that larger source of light for superior lighting quality and control.
Patent-Pending Dual Mirror System
The internal reflectors used in the Prodigy provide a larger light source from your flash than it has alone, before it is then diffused and enlarged even further. This makes for more flattering, soft light and shadows.
Compatible Flash Manufacturers
The universal mounting system of the Prodigy fits nearly any model of camera flash, including: Canon EOS, Nikon, Olympus, Pentax, Sigma, Sony, Metz and many others.

Prodigy Dome Flash Diffuser is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 22.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Floppy The Graslon flash diffuser is great if you only shoot at landscape. If you turn your camera to shoot portrait it is to heavy and then your flash will not stay at the angle you have chosen it wants to flop down so you will find yourself having to hold the flash at your chosen angle. Almost impossible to use on a tripod in portrait setting the diffuser will still fall off of the flash no matter how tight you have the set screws and velcro I believe this is do to the flopping downward and being heavy. If you don't mind struggling with it the Graslon does produce great results.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Well worth it. Excelent performance I use this in professional real estate photography shooting interiors of high end homes. It has been very effective in spreading the light and pushing maximum light forward with minimum shadows. I previously used a Gary Fong Collapsible Light Sphere. This is larger and a bit more fragile then the Fong. Shadow performance is equal to the Fong but the mirrors used in this are more effective in projecting more of the light forward enabling more even lighting in large rooms. The means of attaching this to the strobe is effective and holds tight. The construction is good but I would not want to drop this as the plastic would break. It's size makes it take a lot of room in your kit bag, more than the Fong. Overall it's a great device and I would recommend it to all who are serious photogs.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Diffusion was Delightful I ordered this for a specific indoor event. (small venue) It did remove the flash shadow very well. Weight on the flash head meant you could not use a tilted position w/o gaffers tape to hold the position. The loop on the Velcro glue/weld broke. I had a long Velcro strap that worked better. These two issues are why I chose 3 stars. I was going to return it before the event, but thought I would try it with my fixes. After all, it is about the effectiveness of the outcome.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Heavier than expected We owned one, thought I was ordering the same thing again. This one is much larger than a previous one we ordered. I decided to keep it, but have discovered it does not work well when the flash is positioned at an angle, the weight makes it fall back to horizontal. The diffused light is beautiful, works very well straight on, or straight up.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gotta Love It This is much more incredible than I expected. I bought it to allow me the get an annual picture I take of our extended family. I use a 40 mm lens and stand about 15 feet away. Even my Canon 580 EX strobe falls off in coverage at the ends. With this device through its internal directional mirrors the light is both even and plentiful. On close ups I just adjust the flash output as well as exposure compensation and again even light and almost no shadows on the wall. I am so close to dropping the word almost. I love it. I have the large version and it does draw a lot of razzing from the participants and observers but that is a small price to pay. Actually the unit is very light. I' m thinking of buying the smaller unit as well. Love it. It's more than a gadget .

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best flash modifier I've tried We've all used the Sto-Fen, many of us tried the Fong too, some even used it correctly and didn't try to fire through the dome (cracks me up every time I see it happen). Well, this one is THE best! Also the biggest! Don't try to mentally visualize its dimensions, instead cut a piece of cardboard to specs and see how big it's gonna be on your camera/bracket. Otherwise you're gonna have a shock when you take it out of the box :p More to the point; excellent quality, feels solid and very well put together. Softens the light quite a bit (at the expense of 1.5-2 stops) eliminates those dreaded shiny spots on the forehead, chin and cheek-bones. Very adjustable, will fit most flashes except the Quantums and those potato-smashers wedding photographers like so much. The grip is solid, I kept it pointed straight downwards for a couple of hours and it didn't slip off.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simply Beautiful... What a wonderful product. I use the Dome version indoors and the flat version outdoors and it has been truly a delight. The light scatters so well, and casts no shadows. I've even used it in a couple of weddings. The complaint is that it is rather large on top of your flash unit and kind of clunky. I bought some Velcro and placed it on the unit and on my flash to get a good tight grip. The unit has never fallen off due to this setup. If you don't do it, it kind of feels like it could possibly fall off. It never happened to me, but it felt a little weird until I put on the Velcro. So far so good. I truly love the diffusion. It's a comfortable light affect that just looks and feels right.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from great diffuser in a bind! i am the designated photographer here at work. i normally use my Westcott 26 Rapid box to take portraits of managers. i normally ask for a day's warning to take portraits so i can bring my Westcott with me to work. however, yesterday (12/09) i was asked to do one on the spot. luckily the Graslon was in my car so i used it. the portrait turned out great!! soft flattering lighting and very soft shadows. it would have beend better if i were able to take the flash off camera to create some depth on the subject's face. i'll take what i got and i'm happy with the results!!
