Hama HA-6951 overview

  • 1Description

The Hama Hot Shoe Adapter 1 features a PC female socket on the side wall and a "cold" flash shoe upon the top. When this device is placed into a "hot" flash shoe of a camera, firing the camera will activate anything connected to the PC female socket upon the side.

Use a cord with a "PC male" connection upon one end and whatever fitting your flash employs to fire upon the other end, insert the PC male connection of the cord into this device and the other end of the cord into the flash. When the camera fires, assuming this device has been placed in the hot shoe of that camera, your flash connected to this device's PC female socket will also fire.

Hot Shoe Adapter 1 is rated 3.3 out of 5 by 18.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Loose fit in camera hot shoe I bought this for my Olympus E-510 DSLR camera, in order to mount and connect an older Radio Slave unit which requires a PC terminal connection, which the E-510 camera doesn't have (stupid design omission, Olympus). While this adapter is well made, it doesn't fit snugly into the camera's hot shoe -- at all. I had to put some tape on the bottom (only on one side, so that the body could still make electrical contact). It works, but if I were to start again, I would buy an adapter that has a screw to hold it down to the shoe. Also, I think they easily could have put a PC terminal on both sides, not just on one side.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Well, mine wasn't that good I baught tiis hot shoe adapter for use on my SLR Canon cameras in order to be able to use my big Sunpack flash with the cameras. A nice idea of a product, however in my case it was assembled poorly. There is a protruding ball underneath the converter that connect electrically to the camera flash output. The ball is supposed to have adequate spring loading in the rear. But in my item it didn't have any tension at all. That was because the actual spring was looped over the inside center pin.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not sure what this works with I purchased this to work with my Nikon SB-600 flashes and my Pocket Wizard Plus triggers. It would not trigger the flashes. I figured the shoe didn't match the nikon foot. I tried my, much-more-simple, Sunpak 383 flash and it wouldn't trigger either. I'm not clear what flashes this adaptor works with.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from doesn't work. I bought this to go with my canon 580ex. I had to push the pins of the 580 up to try and fit it on this adapter once on it would not fire with my Pocket wizards. I am unhappy with this product maybe it works better with other flash systems.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Did not work with my set up Bought this with the intention of wirelessly firing a speedlite that did not have a PC connection. After doulbe-checking my wireless triggers were functioning, I assembled the speedlite, this adapter, and the triggers, but no-go. I may have purchased the wrong unit, or it may have been defective. In either case, B&H issued a return authorization immediately.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Hama Hot Shoe Adapter This Hama hot shoe adapter is a little small for my taste but it works fine for PC cords. The only thing I noticed is the metal ball contact for the camera hot shoe mount could be a little stronger in tightness from the inner spring inside the Adapter. Other than that, it's a nice hot shoe adapter.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I fits loose I purchased this to trigger an flash off camera for my canon eos XSi. The unit seems sturdy, but if fits loosly in the camera hot shoe. I have to press down on it to get it to trigger the remote flash reliably. It will fall out of the hot shoe if not watched. I will replace the unit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good fix for wireless flash trigger ... Minutes after receiving a set, I twisted off the wire that connects to the built-in PC socket on the receiver. The Hama Hot Shoe Adapter by-passed the broken wire, and is a superior connection. Also very useful for my digital cameras that have no PC socket Just what I needed!
