It is a common accessory for the Sound Devices 744T Mixer to connect line-level, balanced XLR outputs to the TA3M input on the 744T Audio Recorder. This cable may also be extended by itself with additional lengths of microphone cable. Side bar: On the Rode website it says "Mini XLR (TA3F style
connector)", but I assume that the connector on the mic is actually a TA3M and not an F, and in that case this cable will work.
