The Hoya 67mm UV Haze NXT HMC Filter is a general use, clear filter that helps to absorb ultraviolet light. No additional coloration or contrast is provided, allowing you to pair this filter with others.

The UV filter is also useful as a general protective filter to leave on lenses at all times. Filters help to reduce dust and moisture from reaching your lens element and provide additional protection in case of drops or situations where scratching could occur.

Hoya HMC filters are multi-coated for reducing flare, ghosting, and reflections on the filter surface. As a result, over 97% light transmission is possible, providing you with additional contrast and high color fidelity.

The UV NXT filters are constructed from high quality, heat-resistant, high-transparency optical glass and a precision milled low-profile aluminum frame.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality Glass & Frame / Good Lens Protection I purchased the the Hoya 67mm UV Haze NXT HMC Filter more for front glass protection than to reduce haze. I live in a coastal area of Florida and frequently have to deal with high humidity, salt air and spray so this filter keeps the front lens glass protected. I also use Canon L series lenses which require a front filter to complete the moisture and dust protection feature. I will say that the filter is high quality and does not appear to have any ill effects on the image quality of my photos. As always my friends at B&H do not charge sales tax or shipping so I saved a few bucks and the filter arrived in just a couple of days after I placed the order.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Hoya makes a better one... I returned this filter. After comparing images taken with and without the filter I could see that the shots taken with the filter weren't as sharp as the shots taken without it. I use the Hoya Pro One Digital UV Filter on my other lens and I can't tell the difference in image quality whether it is on or off. So, for me I'm sticking with the Pro One Digital.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Protect Your Lens Purchased the Hoya 67mm UV Haze NXT HMC Filter to protect the front glass on my recently purchased 70-200mm f/4L lens. The lens is dust and moisture sealed, but the manufacturer does state that a protective filter must also be used. Hoya does have a good reputation for producing quality filters so I felt this was inexpensive insurance to protect the front glass. I have taken numerous photos using this filter and have not seen any affect on the image quality of the photos.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Clean thin filter Seems to be good value. Put it on my Canon 18-135mm STM lens. Holds the snap cover on well. Looks quite clear. Reasonable protection for the lens.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Get one Because it's just absolutely necessary. The first lens I purchased had arrived and I ripped it out of it's packaging and on the camera and started shooting. Immediately I became very paranoid that I would scratch the face of the lens which would make the lens useless and need $$$ to repair. So I threw the lens back in the box with all of it's caps and bags, and waited for this filter to show up. It keeps the dust and fingerprints off of my lens and it's coating and I much rather clean this filter than the actual lens itself. It also allows me the freedom to explore angles and tight spaces with my camera that I definitely wouldn't try without it. That's a lot of peace of mind for the price. Lens are expensive so this is a no-brainer must have.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hoya Filters I'm a fan of Hoya filters. Not only do they absorb ultraviolet light but they also absorb shocks. A Hoya NXT filter saved one of my favorite lenses when the lens fell from an open pocket in my camera bag (since retired). The filter dampened the impact. The glass in the filter shattered, not the glass in the lens. Hoya filters go on all my lenses.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid product I use these filters more to protect the lens, than as a filter. But the filter does get rid of the UV light. They are good quality (threads) and the glass is good with no distortion. Good investment to protect those very expensive lens. Don't risk a scratch on an expensive lens.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I would buy the Hoya Filter again. Had this type of filter on the camera lens to protect the lens. My niece dropped the camera bag with the camera inside the bag. The Filter broke into several pieces, but the camera lens was saved! So I bought the same type of filter again. The filter works very well.
