Secure Camera to Tripod Mount?

The bolt is nowhere long enough to secure a camera to any tripod mount I've ever seen. Make sure your tripod mount is super thin and doesn't require a notch in the bolt shaft before ordering this product.

Is this compatible with the MeFoto Globetreker Tripod/mount plate? The BlackRapid version won't fit through the quick-release plate far enough to be effective (made to fit Manfrotto only it seems)
