The Ikan Canon 900 Type Battery Top-Mount for Blackmagic Cinema Camera allows you to mount a Canon 900 type battery to the 1/4"-20 sockets on top of the BMCC. This enables you to shoot for a longer period, or to record even after the internal camera battery is depleted. The lightweight Battery Top-Mount converts the Canon 900 type battery to the 12V output the BMCC requires. The Canon 900 Type Battery Top-Mount is one of several DV battery model top-mounts offered by Ikan.

    ikan BMC-PWR-PW-C reviews

Canon 900 Type Battery Top-Mount for Blackmagic Cinema Camera is rated 1.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Odd design choices I got this as a temporary battery solution for my BMC since I already had some Canon batteries from my XH-A1. First off, the center mounting screw is too long, and when it was tightened it warped the middle bracket and the whole bracket was shakey at best. I ended up not using the middle bracket at all and sort of rearranged things with a shorter screw I got from the hardware store so that it now sits off to the side a little on top of the camera using just the lower mounting plate. It works with the 1 hour battery that came with my Canon XH-A1, but doesn't work with the 2 hour battery. Not sure why. The grooves that allow the battery to slide into place are too tight. I had to open them up a little with a screw driver and ended up breaking one of them off in the process. The battery still seats firmly in place, so I can use it, but it was a pain to sort of reinvent the thing. Would not recommend this as a permanent battery solution for the BMC.
