RigWheels RMS1 RigMount
Key Features
 • Short Mounting Bolt for Small Cameras
 • 50 Pound Vertical Pull Resistance
 • Rare Earth Magnets
 • Rubber Coating Protects Finish
The RigWheels RMS1 RigMount is a magnetic camera car mount that uses rare earth magnets to achieve its high holding power (Up to 50 pounds in a vertical pull). This mount has a shorter mounting bolt on the top, which is sized specifically for use with cameras and small ball heads. It has a specially formulated rubber coating to both protect the surface you mount to and to prevent slippage. The one thing about mounting a camera with this magnetic camera mount is that once it is safely attached to a steel surface it will not lose its holding power. When you mount your camera with the RigMount, you can be confident that your frame will stay exactly where you want it.

Suction mounts are prone to vibration because of the rubber components. Because this magnetic camera car mount uses a durable rubber material that is just thick enough to protect the surface you're mounting to, there will be less vibration and your shots will be more stable.

Since the RigMount has a flat base, it can also be used as a mini-tripod to place and position your camera. For point-and-shoot cameras, the RigMount makes a good travel tripod because of its versatility and all the different ways in which you can place it. One of the difficulties with most miniature tripods is that it can often be difficult to find a platform to put them on in order to get the camera to the correct height. The RigMount solves this problem with its ability to attach to steel surfaces (street signs, cars, mail boxes, and railings).

question

Is there enough thread to screw this into the bottom of an Oben BA-106A Single Lever Ball Head? Will be mounted to a modified enlarger unit and will be shooting vertically most of the time with a T6i and 100mm Macro lens.
Asked by: Andy W.
The Open head mounts via a 3/8-16 thread. This RigMount had a 1/4-20 thread but you could use a thread adapter. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/503797-REG/General_Brand_NPTRB_3_8_to_1_4_20_Tripod.html
