Great modifier, only downside is the need to buy the adaptors too - but once you have adaptors its not such a big deal

    It's a profoto product!

Is it expensive, is it made of the highest quality materials does it work as advertised yes to all of the above. This is professional equipment and built to last. You won't believe how well this gear just works day in and day out. If it says profoto on the outside you know you're getting the best. It won't let you down when your clients are expecting your best.

Good Light Quality, Durability and Support Issues

I purchased two 1 x 3 strip boxes and a 3' octabox and all of the associated grids, speedings etc. for them for a shoot. I was replacing cheaper soft boxes that were close to end of life. The octabox came with a manufacturing flaw: instead of a velcro loop to hold the inner diffuser, there was a small cloth loop sewn in its place like lower on the octabox. Thus the diffuser couldn't be mounted the way it is supposed to be. I contact Profoto and they told me that they only way they could even consider fixing this was if I shipped the soft box to them at my expense. They would look at it and determine what should be done. Seriously? I just spent four figures on modifiers and they wouldn't accept photos, videos or anything else. They wouldn't ship me a soft box to use while mine was being checked out. After multiple calls and messages to them, I just ended up fixing the defect by sticking double sided velcro on the cloth loop. It's still that way today. Secondly, on the 2nd use of my 1 x 3 strip boxes, one of the metal colored knobs fell off of the metal rod that gives the strip box its shape. It looks like these are just glued onto the rod. Given my past poor experience the Profoto, I decided to just expoxy the knob back myself. Saves me from the aggravation of dealing with them. Net/net, if you are Pro photo equipment company, charging pro prices for your equipment. The least that a pro photographer expects is pro level service. It's missing from Profoto. Going to keep using what I have, but going to continue to look at other brands. Who wants to drop $4K on a lightning system and receive $ dollar service?

Not the easiest to assemble, but it was new out of the box. But once put together and ready to go, you will be amazed! Profoto is a class by itself. I used the 1'x3' and also the 1'x4' and I'm in awe. Thanks to the speedring you can turn them any way you want, 360 degrees.

Profoto products continue to impress me! Setting up was intuitive and fast. Materials are superb and the the speed ring attachment system is the best thing going out there in the studio strobe world

I will buy this product again (already on order)

So far I have used this as a bottom light for headshot portraiture and I'm very pleased with the size and quality of light. As usual for Profoto, the construction and ease of assembly are excellent. If you shop on price alone you will find other alternatives. If you purchase for quality, effectiveness and ease of use then you can't go wrong with Profoto.

    question

on the RFI version of all Profoto soft boxes, what is the heat resistance tolerance?
    Asked by: sean t.
I believe they are rated at 750W maximum in the specifications, but using strobes doesn't create that much heat and I never use my modeling lights turned all the way up. I've not had any issues in my studio.

The rods are exactly 22 3/4 long so they should fit into your luggage.
