    Profoto 254710 reviews

    RFi 1.0 x 6.0' Softbox is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 15.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great softbox It's a great, long strip bank with excellent construction. Setup/teardown is quite easy, as you don't have to wrestle too much with the rods, and the RFi speedrings and rods are very well built. The material is heavyweight and will definitely last for years and years to come. There is a caveat, however, when using the Profoto B1/B2 units _without_ the optional frosted dome. There is significant light falloff to the tune of about 1 1/3 stops or more at the ends of the softbox due to the B1/B2 and D1''s integrated 77-degree reflector. Placing a frosted dome on a B1 or D1 alleviates this a little bit, but not by much, for how much those things cost.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Champagne price for beer quality Used it ONCE, second time I 'm putting it together after sliding the rod in, one pocket came undone on the side and the rod came out. Took it to the a local sailmaker to stitch ALL the four pockets with a much thicker and stronger thread! The thread used by Profoto is ridiculously thin and not strong enough. Not happy since Profoto is supposed to be top notch quality, but obviously it isn't the case. I suggest you do the same if you purchase this 1x6 strip box.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Everything that ProFoto is supposed to b I work mainly in the fitness photography business. These stripboxes accommodate my needs, along with the optional grids, to show off what some of these models and athletes have worked so hard to achieve. Very well made, durable, not flimsy at all...worth the money. I just got them, and I can tell they will last a long time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I bought three This is a fairly large softbox at 6 feet in length. However, with only 4 rods to insert into the Speedring, the assembly is relatively easy. Assembling on a flat surface helps as things aren't flopping about while being supported. Once the rods are assembled, the softbox can be put on the light atop the stand. The two diffusers can then be easily inserted. Once the rods and diffusers are assembled, you're ready for positioning and the first shot. On one of my first shoots, I felt the light spill was more than I wanted. As such, I've ordered the grids and expect that they will cure the issue. Bottom line - this is a fine, well-made product that creates great soft light over relatively large objects.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Tool In addition to a crucial tool for shooting cars or large objects, it's beautiful for background control and great as a rim light. A versatile beast.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from STRIP BOX This is an awesome box to high light facial structure and define muscle tone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Another Quality Product I own a variety of Profoto umbrellas and softboxes including the 1.0 x 4.0' and wanted to have a larger version. The build quality is great, and if you get the Profoto speedring then the color-coding makes assembly a breeze. I have no negatives, just wondering if I should have bought a second one since I should be lighting in pairs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Already a great workhorse for me I use this softbox (sometimes with a softgrid or stripmask) for a variety of shoots: cars, group photos, background wash, dramatic work. It's well-built, easy to set up, and does a fine job of holding its shape even at tough angles. Just be warned: the rods are LONG, so it's not going to fold up real small.
