3' RFi Octa Softbox is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 45.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Excellent build quality and light quality. Once you insert the stays into the sleeves, leave them in there. I can assemble and disassemble in under a minute. For those who struggle with the assembly, read the instructions! Make sure you insert the stays at 180 degrees from one another when beginning assembly. Once those four stays are in, do the same with the remaining four. Don't be afraid to put some bending pressure on the stays. Once the first two stays are installed, it often helps to put the octabox flat on the floor and apply some downward pressure to the speedring to help insert the remaining stays. Do the same when breaking-down.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Light quality is great, everything else? Not so much.... I purchased two 1 x 3 strip boxes and a 3' octabox and all of the associated grids, speedings etc. for them for a shoot. I was replacing cheaper soft boxes that were close to end of life. The octabox came with a manufacturing flaw: instead of a velcro loop to hold the inner diffuser, there was a small cloth loop sewn in its place like lower on the octabox. Thus the diffuser couldn't be mounted the way it is supposed to be. I contact Profoto and they told me that they only way they could even consider fixing this was if I shipped the soft box to them at my expense. They would look at it and determine what should be done. Seriously? I just spent four figures on modifiers and they wouldn't accept photos, videos or anything else. They wouldn't ship me a soft box to use while mine was being checked out. After multiple calls and messages to them, I just ended up fixing the defect by sticking double sided velcro on the cloth loop. It's still that way today. Secondly, on the 2nd use of my 1 x 3 strip boxes, one of the metal colored knobs fell off of the metal rod that gives the strip box its shape. It looks like these are just glued onto the rod. Given my past poor experience the Profoto, I decided to just expoxy the knob back myself. Saves me from the aggravation of dealing with them. Net/net, if you are Pro photo equipment company, charging pro prices for your equipment. The least that a pro photographer expects is pro level service. It's missing from Profoto. Going to keep using what I have, but going to continue to look at other brands. Who wants to drop $4K on a lightning system and receive $$dollar service?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well constructed and rugged OCTA Box I read many reviews on the Profoto 3' Octa softbox, and all they were all accurate. The OCTA softbox is made of thick rugged materials. The rods are both flexible and very strong. At the present time I am using it with two speedlights, and the Profoto speedlight speeding. The light it gives off is soft and there are no highlights that are detracting. It has far more wrap around lighting that my existing rectangular softbox. Assembly takes a while to get the hang of, and it's not something that can be set up in a minute or two. It will take several minutes. I have chosen to keep it set up, and transport it in my car like that. I highly recommend it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My favorite modifier The 3' octo just may be my favorite modifier for portraits. I have worked with many different brands, most fall apart if dragged on location all the time. The build quality of the profoto is worth the premium price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from ****PERFECT FOR WEDDINGS*** I use this Profoto Rfi Softbox Octa attached to a Profoto Speedring for my Canon 600ex-rt. The Octa sits at the end of a Photoflex Lite Reach which my assistant holds above the Couple during their formal dance to provide soft fill light or key light. This exact same set up comes in handy inside the church for the formal family photos as well. Build Quality is PROFOTO QUALITY which pretty much means its a REALLY GOOD quality Octobox. Other uses include, food. product and ofcourse portrait photography. Just get it already. You wont regret it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's Profoto! What else is there to say? Extremely well made octa soft box! Little bit of a learning curve to setting it up in the RFI Speedlight speed ring but not bad. The size is perfect for on location shoots or indoor shoots. A bit pricey but that is Profoto. You can't go wrong if you buy this excellent product!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Perfect for HARD or Soft Light This Octa is perfect for headshots in any situation. Produces really soft light with internal and front white diffusers on and can easily be switched to a harder light source by removing the front diffuser. Ive photographed everything from Brides to doctors and lawyers with this Octa. Only con is that I wish it were a bit easier to break down but still not that big of a hassle. GREAT BUY!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from provides even light with no hotspots I use it with the speedring for speedlights, & I attach to it two Canon 600EX-RTs. It has two removable diffusers (inner and outer). It provides even light with no hotspots. Very well made.
