It does what it's supposed to. I bought some video lights to use as constant light sources, but can continue to use my Profoto modifiers to avoid duplication and keep my constant light working kit as similar as possible to the flash kit

I bought this speedring to use a Profoto Rfi Octa softbox with other strobes I have and continuous lights that use the Bowens mount. It works perfect and the same ring can be used with octa, rectangular or strip Profoto softboxes. Is very well made and easy to use with the color code. Note that this ring is to be used ONLY with Profoto brand Rfi softboxes, not with any other brand softboxes! You can then use your Profoto softboxes with any brand of Bowens mount strobe, video light, speedlight with a Bowens accessory, etc. Thats the way it was intended to be used.

This ring is to attach a softbox to a Bowens mount light. If you want to attach a softbox to a Profoto you need a Profoto ring. If the modifier ring is not removable then it can not be used.
