I'm using these with a Millenia HV-3C preamp to record a 9ft Steinway Grand in a large (25 X 30ft) room. The sound is crystal clear, brilliant on the top, sonorous in the bass but not boomy, not dry nor overly resonant, when used at a distance of about 5 -6 ft from the open piano lid, pointed down toward the strings.
