Axis Communications P1214 Overview

The P1214 1.3MP Mini Pinhole Camera from AXIS Communications consists of a compact main unit and a small sensor unit, enabling close up, discreet surveillance. The two units are connected together with a 26' cable for convenient installation options. The camera uses a 1/4" progressive-scan CMOS sensor for 1280 x 720 resolution at 30 fps, and it features a 3.7mm fixed lens for a 57° horizontal field of view. Brightness, sharpness, white balance, and backlight compensation features allow you to configure your camera based on different environments. The camera also comes with built-in analytics, such as motion detection, autotracking, and line crossing. When any of these events occur, the camera will send you an email notification or store video recordings of the event to your edge storage.

The camera compresses footage using H.264 and MJPEG formatting, maximizing your bandwidth and storage. Additionally, video can be streamed in multiple individual streams, and frame rates and bandwidth are controllable for further customizing your network. A microSD slot supports on-site recording, however, the camera can also record remotely to a dedicated NAS. The network is secured with a number of safety features, including password protection, IP address filtering, and HTTPs encryption. ONVIF-compliance provides compatibility with a wide range of surveillance devices for connecting your camera to an NVR or NAS. PoE technology allows you to transfer both data and power over the same Ethernet cable, minimizing the amount of cables needed during installation, and the camera can be mounted behind a wall or ceiling, with just a small opening allowing the lens to view the area you wish to monitor.
