Nanuk 920 Overview

Designed for professionals, photographers, and hobbyists, the graphite 920 Hard Utility Case from Nanuk is made from lightweight crush, dust, and waterproof NK-7 polypropylene resin. It protects and stores delicate items like laptops, tablets, cameras & lenses, electronics, drones, sample kits, tools, handguns with spare magazines and hearing protection, medical equipment & first aid supplies, and equipment of all sorts. This version of the 920 is offered without an insert, leaving the entire 15 x 10.5 x 6.2" interior available for complete customization to your specific gear and needs.

Its gasketed lid is held fast with dual PowerClaw latches. This patented latch system uses compressive force to tightly clamp the case shut to a waterproof and dustproof IP67 rating, with an integrated slide lock that prevents the case from opening during transport or if dropped. For additional security, there are two 0.3" padlock holes integrated into the case and lid. A molded-in bezel system allows the use of optional inserts that can be installed quickly and easily without the need to modify your case. A built-in pressure relief valve regulates the internal pressure, keeping your gear and the case from getting crushed during air travel and allowing you to open it without having to break a tough pressurized seal. Further design features include rustproof stainless steel hardware and a foldable soft-grip handle at the top.

Nanuk 920 Reviews

So close to perfect

Fits my A7iiia with smallrig cage, handle, and lens on. I wish the case was a 1/2-3/4 inch deeper cuz with my laptop in the lid organizer it just wont quite close with the camera with the cage, handle, and lens on, that's a bummer. Would be super cool if the laptop spot was padded too against the lid, even just a thin something, that would require more depth, maybe an inch overall. Love the latches and the quality is excellent overall.

Great case with two issues.

This case is well made and is similar to the other cases in the market. The only issues seem to be what happens if you need to replace the waterproof rubber gasket, and if you need repairs either on or off warranty. With respect to the gasket(s), I don't see any indication that the gaskets are available anywhere else but from the manufacturer who happens to be in Canada. Which brings me to my second concern. According to Google and B+H, all questions of repairs or warranty issues have to be directed to the repair center in Canada. There is no US repair center. This means that you must ship your case to Canada. This is expensive and requires doing customs declarations etc. And, according to the NANUK website, if there is nothing wrong with the case or they judge that the issues with the case is due to abuse, the cost to return the case to you is on you. Other wise, a good reliable case worth review.

Great cases. . .

A little tight in the height

A little tight if you want to keep a lens on your camera. For instance, a Fuji XT4 will fit upright with the lens, but just barely. I wouldn't trust leaving it like that. Maybe opt for the 935 case. However overall the case is well made, will withstand most daily impacts, and the divider system is decent and can be configured for the most part. The locks are kind of a dual action when opening, closing. Very meaty. I rated 4 stars only because of the case height issue. Another inch for the interior would have been wonderful.

I own 6 of them in various sizes. The quality is on par and better than anything comparable like Pelican or HPRC (I own those cases as well)

Solid Protection and Looks Great

This is an excellently designed case with complete flexibility for layout with the removable velcro pads. The push-down lock design is brilliant and effortless to use, and very secure. The size is designed for DSLRs, but I was able to fit a BMPCC 4K camera and 3 cinema lenses in a good configuration with room for batteries and a couple accessories. For any more equipment one of the larger sizes would be needed.

Bought this as an extra case to store my monitors, lavs and miscellaneous cords. The pockets up top are a little small but great for those little bits and pieces.

Would this fit a canon R5? I know it's designed for the Sony bodies but it would be great to know if anyone has fit a Canon mirrorless in here!
Asked by: Keylan
Unfortunately, I am not sure. The Nanuk 920 Case for Sony a7R Camera and Lid Foam (Black), B&H # NA920ESON1, includes pre-cut foam that is designed for use with the Sony Alpha a7R Mirrorless Digital Cameras (or cameras of similar dimensions). The Sony Alpha a7R Digital Camera's dimensions are 5 x 3.7 x 1.89" (127 x 94 x 48 mm). The Canon EOS R5 Mirrorless Digital Camera's dimensions are 5.43 x 3.84 x 3.46" (138 x 98 x 88 mm). The Canon EOS R5 is slightly larger than the Sony Alpha a7R Digital Camera, so your results may vary. However, as the pre-cut insert is manufactured from foam, if you need more room from your camera, it may be possible to take a sharp blade such as an X-Acto Knife or a box cutter to expand the size of the foam to fit your camera.
