Axis Communications T8120 Overview

The pack of 10 T8120 Power over Ethernet Midspan (15W, 1-Port) from Axis Communications offers an easy, fast, and cost-effective solution for supplying power to network video products without the need to install power outlets and electrical cabling. You simply connect the Axis PoE midspan to the network, and the network video product is supplied with power.

The PoE midspan provides power (maximum 15.4 W) over an Ethernet cable to a network video product with built-in PoE support. It enables network cameras and video encoders to be installed in areas where traditional power cabling and outlets are unavailable or difficult to install.

The PoE midspan is IEEE 802.3af compliant, which ensures compatibility with most Axis products that have built-in support for PoE.

The Axis T8120 worked as expected. I have a 90 meter span for one of my network cameras, and the voltage on the load end was more than adequate to power a 12W IP camera. The LED indicates whether power is being applied, and the unit's software complies with the POE standard (it verifies that 25kohms is present on the far end before applying full voltage).

This includes the required cables you it can connected directly into a standard AC outlet.
