Sony RM-IP10 Overview

Remotely control your BRC remote cameras with the RM-IP10 IP Remote Controller from Sony over an IP network. The RM-IP10 can control up to 112 BRC cameras using a combination of IP and serial communication, and up to five RM-IP10 controllers can operate on the same LAN.

The RM-IP10 operates on your LAN using its RJ45 port and works in a standard VISCA IP network, providing control for up to seven BRC cameras. Sony RM-IP10 Reviews

Keeps freezing randomly

This product freezes randomly sometimes when selecting a preset. The joystick will continue to function on the selected camera but you cannot select a different camera and all buttons stop working. Unplug everything and plug it back in and it is still stuck. Happens to us once a week. Unbelievable. I even bought a replacement and was prepared to send the old one in for repair but the replacement did the same thing!

This joystick does work very well. No issues when unplugging and plugging back in. We use with Sony PTZ cameras for streaming live sports. Once set up (a bit of run around the first time) all you have to do is plug it up and it sees our 3 cameras. There is no lag..works great. We've used PTZ Optics joystick and a Vaddio joystick with other cameras. No knock on those, the get the job done and are cheaper. This RM-IP10 however is noticeably different and more features for our fast paced sports operation. We are using an ATEM 4K switcher and are monitoring/running the cameras over SDI for our multicam. The Sony RM-IP10 is ran to a switch as are the cameras over CAT cable. That set up...while a little frustrating is worth it once it's there. For our cameras we had to download two different Sony plugins. One that came with the cameras and one that Sony support had to give us. Overall great joystick. Like it a lot.

Does the Sony RM-IP10 replace the Sony RM-BR300?
Asked by: Diana
Yes, The Sony RM-IP10 is the replacement IP or network controller for the SONY RM-BR300 which did not support network control. It will still support legacy Visca protocol control with 8 pin din daisy chain installations as well.
