    Tascam CD-200SB reviews

    CD-200SB Solid-State / CD Player is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 7.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from reliable product with some quirky features Pros: Works as advertised, plays CD's and MP3/WAV files from USB/SD/CD media, variety of outputs (XLR, RCA, and digital) allow use in various environments, display has large characters that are easy to read at a distance, provides for direct access to folders and tracks. Cons: - Single Play mode does a full Stop at the end of the track being played instead of cuing up the start of the next track like (some) similar units do. This is not useful in my case. - While unit will play .WAV files from USB/SD there is still an audible gap between tracks that should be continuous. While I expect this with .MP3 files I hoped this would not be the case, so not as useful as it could be. - While the display is easy to read, the large characters sacrifice the amount of information that can be displayed, and there is no indication of the current Play/Pause/Stop state.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A nice alternative to the 5 Disc Changer After several 5 disc carousel blunders, I was looking for something forward looking and found the TASCAM CD-200SB with it's capability to playback digita music files from SD cards and USB sticks. Well, I can say it does both very well. This is one of the few cd players around that actually has just about all of its features on the front panel in addition to the remote. XLR, RCA, SPDIF, and Toslink are all nice features to have at this price point. Very quite operation and solid all-metal construction. My biggest complaint would be that it lacks a removable power cord, which I have come to expect from pretty much all decent modern components (come on, how much extra does it really cost?!). I use it as a transport and feed the toslink out into my DAC with excellent results. I don't think they build a solid 5 disc changer anymore that will last a good 10 to 15 years of regular usage, but this device will allow you to create programs off of your flash media to make up for that loss. I would recommend its usage to just about anything (pro audio, home stereo, DJ) with a hint of caution to extensive road travel because it has a disc tray instead of being a slot load mechanism. Also, make sure you go buy the approved flash media for the best results.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Always a pleasure with B & H We purchased this CD player for use in our church worship services. What we needed was a device which plays a variety of formats (MP3, WAV) and has inputs for USB and SD. We also wanted a player that loads quickly and is intuitive to operate. The Tascam CD-200SB Solid-State CD Player delivers on all of these. The balanced XLR outputs are unique and an added feature of the product. B&H products always come well-packaged and on time and that's why we keep coming back to them!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from One Digital Issue I am overall pleased with the CD-200SB. The only issue is when playing music with the USB port on a travel drive. If you play a song that is made of multiple recorded tracks (as in an accompaniment with rehearsal cues) there is a small space of silence. This does not happen when playing the same type of recording on the CD player.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Can't be beat for the money I have two of these now. I bought one for my budget system at beach house. Liked it so well that I replaced my high end player at home. The rack mount wings come off so it fits right in stack. It's tied into my amp via XLR cables
