Sony PCK-LM15 reviews

PCK-LM15 LCD Protective Cover for Select Sony Cameras is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 202.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not Reliable This protective cover relies on a very narrow border of a lightly adhesive surface to adhere to the LCD display. Within days, my cover lost its adhesive ability and now will not stay on the camera. If I could, I would give this product a 0-star rating. B&H is sending me a free replacement, but as of now I can not recommend this product. I'll see how the replacement does. I don't understand why Sony can't design an LCD display with a more scratch and smudge resistant exterior surface in the first place.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does its job For any one like me who hates having to look at scratched screens this is the remedy. Bought the cover from BH (which shipped it promptly) and installed on my RX100 II. It is very discreet and does not even look like I've put a cover over the lcd. It is so perfectly cut and made for this camera's screen. It does not seem to be reducing the brightness and I see no optical distortions (like refractive rainbow, or overt reflections). When I upgrade my RX100, I would like to give it away looking as good as new. For those who are going to buy and install one, just one note - Read the instructions carefully, or you will place with slightly out of alignment. But then the cover can removed and realigned.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works as expected to protect A7 line cameras from Scratches This glass screen protector is crystal clear-which is critical for reviewing images while shooting, plus it bears the Sony logo, giving it the proper aesthetic touch for the beautiful A7 camera line. I used this for my A7Rii. The only gripe is that the instructions for applying the screen protector were extremely sparse, and it wasn't too obvious if the peel away backing was a part of the packaging or the actual peel away. If I didn't have previous practice in applying glass screen protectors to my iPhone, I would have ruined it with trapped dust and fingerprints. Some tips: 1.) Before applying, work in a brightly-lit environment with as little dust as possible. 2.) Clean your camera's screen with rubbing alcohol using a microfiber cloth. Finish the cleaning job by using scotch tape to clear away any dust that is attracted to the screen or use a can of compressed air. 3.) Before peeling the backing off of the screen protector, practice by lining up the protector with the actual screen. Once you have seen how it should line up, peel the backing off and apply the protector. Personally, I touched the bottom edge of the protector to the screen at a 45 degree angle, so that my alignment was precise. If you cleared away all the dust, simply pressing against the protector will create a perfect application.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fitting on a A7Riii The product is very good and well made. However, the only way to make it fit on the new A7Riii is to put it on upside down; so that the Sony logo is upside down. The reason for this is because the left side of the LCD panel on A7Riii is thicker than the right side. As you can see from this product's picture, it's protecting the right side more than the left. Obviously putting it upside down doesn't make it work less but it does look bad having the logo upside down.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from works well on my RX100-iii This fits my RX100-iii perfectly. I bought this because after a couple years of use, the anti-glare coating on the stock screen started to wear along the edges, giving an uneven look to the screen; I didn't want this to get worse. Sure, you might save a few bucks with a 3rd party screen, but here are the advantages with this one: (1) It's tempered glass, not plastic. (2) It's thin enough to be unobtrusive; my camera doesn't feel any different. (3) The two notches along the left side expose the light sensors that help with the screen's adaptive brightness feature. (4) Mine says it was Made in Japan (not China).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Essential to have! The main thing here is that its great to use and does not change the look of the camera. It sits tightly and you don,t really notice its on there. It looks like a part of the camera. I have had an A7s2 for a year now and use it alot for work. My father has one as well, does not use it as much and his screen looks horribly after his year. The main difference is this filter. Not only does it protect the original screen but its just a much tougher surface so the cover is even still in pristine condition. I thought I would have to replace this Cover in a few months of use or just dump it but its still perfect.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Alternative to Heavy interchangeable Zoom Rather than adding a long heavy zoom to my SONY ILC cameras (A7RII and A6500) for casual wildlife photography, I bought the RX10M3. This allows me to carry one of my other cameras with a prime or light zoom along with the RX10M3 when hiking. I favour the RX when I need the reach and the A7RII/A6500 when I want a shorter focal length and quick to action. It is a little hesitant to focus at the long end in lower light which is why I rated it with 4 stars. The RX sharpness is remarkable even at the 600mm equivalent FL and the interpolated 1200mm is really quite usable as well. I am happy with my choice.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Must-have accessory As long as the coating on the built-in LCD screen of these P&S Sonys is too soft, this item should be included as part of a kit, or recommended option. Others have commented that it adds thickness to the camera, but really, its minimal, and doesn't prohibit fitting the camera in a case. Only downside is, like myself, most will by this as an after-scratch protection, but you can still see even faint scratches through the screen protector. Buy this with the camera, and put it on immediately. That way you'll adjust the screen brightness correctly from the get-go and forget about it's presence in no time.
