The T-19644C Comprehensive 2 Digital Dual Purpose Binocular Microscope from Ken-a-Vision is a four-objective binocular microscope designed for middle school and high school students. The integrated digital camera features a 3.2 megapixel CMOS sensor and is capable of HD video output. The included Applied Vision 4 imaging software is compatible with Mac and Windows operating systems and allows users to capture photos, record videos, and even annotate images using a range of analytical tools.
The Comprehensive 2 digital microscope is designed to deliver plug-and-play performance with most computing platforms as well as interactive white boards. The full potential of this digital microscope is revealed by the Applied Vision 4 software. This software program was designed for educators and researchers, and provides tools for capturing images of the specimen as well as overlaying text, measurements, arrows and other icons. In addition, Applied Vision 4 supports multiple cameras simultaneously, image comparison, digital zoom, and time-lapse specimen recording.
This model of the Comprehensive 2 microscope is configured with a 360° rotating head and achromat DIN objectives that minimize image distortions and provide enhanced contrast. The microscope's Seidentopf binocular viewing head enables the interpupillary distance of the eyepieces to be adjusted using an intuitive push-pull hinge. Quick interpupillary adjustments complement the viewing head's 360° rotation capability, allowing the view to be shared without having to move the microscope. Additionally, a Vernier-scaled mechanical stage permits coarse and fine adjustments to the specimen using low position coaxial controls.
The T-19644C also provides variable-intensity incidental and transmitted illumination, each controlled by a base-mounted rheostat dimmer. Combined with the brightness-adjustable top and bottom LED light sources, an Abbe condenser lens and iris diaphragm helps provide a broad range of specimen illumination configurations.
The energy-efficient LED light sources operate at a cool temperature and prolong the life of the Comprehensive 2 digital microscope's built-in rechargeable battery. A full battery can provide up to 40 hours of continuous operation before needing to be charged. In addition to the low position coaxial focus controls that deliver coarse and fine focus adjustments, the T-19544C also includes tension adjustment and a rack stop that prevent accidental damage to the specimen and objective. The Comprehensive 2 series microscope was built for reliable performance in the lab or classroom, and is backed by the manufacturer's ten-year warranty.
