Really good purchase

I've connected this to myEF Mount Blackmagic Production Camera to control iris, focus and recording. The mechanical follow focus thing I've set the way to control the lens focus length. Works like a charm.

Got What I Paid For

The control works really well with the GY-HM600. What I don't like about it is it's base is plastic and if you tighten down on it a little too much, it's subject to break. I've worked with other controls that are plastic, but screwed on to a metal base or plate. The screws are a little too short. My tripod handle has a foam cover and the tightening nuts can only hold at about 3 threads. Works in 3 to 4 speeds, not smooth like the zoom on the camera.I really like that they use a audio adapter like end to plug into the camera instead of some fancy plug like other manufactures. They kept it simple.

Constant Calibration Problems

Worked fine for a while, until the zoom got really jumpy. The abrupt jumping in and out started to cause serious focusing issues also. Contacted tech support for Varizoom and they gave us some instructions for mechanically recalibrating the zoom. When recalibrated, it works ok for about a week or two, then we have to recalibrate again. Too bad this is the one and only remote that works with JVC ProHD GY-HM150U. We have decided to change our camera and get a Canon so that we can use our Manfrotto LANC compatible remotes.

zoom fast, focus to slow

Also works on LS300 with Panasonic lens

Nice zoom control, typical of Varizoom products. I little pricey compared to other varizoom products so only 4 stars. If you have any of the newer firmware upgrades on the JVC LS300, this will also work, and it will power zoom the Panasonic Lumix G X Vario PZ 45-175mm making this studio body work more like a traditional camcorder. Iris and focus control with this controller also tested good with this lens and body combo. Note Optical stabilization does not work on this lens and ls300, though. Also, this control will control the ls300 "Prime zoom" feature, giving you a degree of zoom control on prime or manual zoom lenses.

Is there a way to make this wireless?

Is there a way to make this wireless?
Asked by: Ian
Unfortunately, there is not an option, at this time, to adapt an LANC controller to wireless. However, we do offer other product that could work on their own, such as the LanParte LANC Wireless Controller Kit. https://bhpho.to/3GtHRmr

question

Hello,Will this remote control work using the JVC GY-HM170UA 4KCAM? Thank you in advance!HVelez
Asked by: Herberto V.
I have confirmed that it will work on the GYLS-300 4k camera with the MFT mount. It will use the digital zoom feature similar to the zoom rocker on the camera when using a prime lens. My feeling is that it will work on the 170.

question

Is there another zoom contol tht will work with the jvc cameras thts cheaper?
Asked by: Edward M.
Not that I know of, but Verizoom normally will have newer models of controllers if there is one. I would keep checking from time to time on various site. I normally will check B&H and Amazon

question

I have the HM150u. Note the use of 3.5 plug on this. Will any lanc compatible 3.5 work?
Asked by: Anonymous
Yes, any 3.5 extension cable will work with this remote. We added a 10' long 3.5 extension cable to reach to the end of a boom, and it works fine.
