Bought this so that I would have a backup batter available to take with me whenever I'd take the camera with me. Bought this in May of 2022 and it's now August of 2023. Just took the battery off the charger, which reported the battery as fully charged, took maybe 15 pictures and the battery was completely drained.
Although this might seem like a nit, this battery did not come with a plastic cover to protect the battery's contacts. All Canon batteries comes with covers and all lithium batteries should. We all know what bad things can happen if somehow the contacts are shorted. The cover would cost , what? Less than a penny? Small price to pay for the safety of keeping the contacts covered. Otherwise, the battery seems to be fine.
Obviously, I got this because it was 25% the cost of it's Canon equivalent. It was great for a couple years, but gradually became more a hinderance than help. The case expanded a little bit each time I shot and made it harder to get the battery out of the camera. It was cost efficient at the time, but I wouldn't do it again.
Seems to last just as long as an OEM battery - no complaints.
Using as a backup battery for a Canon PowerShot SX70 HS. The Canon supplied battery is usually enough, but it's always worth having a backup. Since it's a backup, worth it to me getting the cheaper off brand battery. Since it won't be used as often anyway, it should last just as long.
Works as designed to operate my new Canon camera! Using for the first Time. Charges fine! Works and drives camera with no issues at all! Reasonably price compared to an original Canon battery approx $60 to a Watson at $15.00 I'll revisit this after I shot a few hundred stills and a lengthy video for greater evaluation of longevity of power!
I bought 3 of those batteries 6 or 7 years ago and I barely used them, probably 15 times i would say and today upon recharging the batteries i noticed that none of them fit inside the battery compartment. It should not dissuade you to buy them, as they are very cheap compared to the Canon brand, but keep in mind that down the line these batteries will get swollen.
