This was one of 3 tanks I ordered to keep my stock at the correct level (tank in use, hot spare, and if any in-use tank is low, at least that color of spare-spare). As usual, B&H delivered it on-time, very well-packed, and documented.

Why does the 2 pack version say compatible with MG7120 but the single pack version does not say it is compatible?

It is a web error. Sorry fir the confusion. The PGI-250PGBK XL High-Capacity Pigment Black Ink Tank is compatible with the MG7120.

WHAT DOES PIGMENT BASED INK MEAN ?

It is more like a flour and water mixture. Because of this, dye-based inks flow better and have been the standard in inkjet printers. But the dye will re-dissolve and the ink will flow across the paper if drops of water hit the paper. Pigmented ink particles tend to settle into the tiny fibers that make up the paper.
