The XCLIB-Lite Programming Library for Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8 64-Bit from EPIX is a limited version of the full XCLIB software for building applications. Like with the full version, XCLIB-Lite can be used with multiple PIXCI frame grabbers, but it allows selecting and operating only one board at a time, as opposed to your choice of multicamera operation or independent capture.
Like the full XCLIB software, XCLIB-Lite provides Simple C Functions (SCF) for snapping images, capturing sequences, and dual buffer (ping-pong) capture, as well as for reading and writing single or blocks of RGB or monochrome pixel values. However, it's limited to these features and does not offer the "structured" interface, bit depth conversions, optional color space conversions to HSB and YUV/YCrCb, nor reading/writing only a single color component of RGB. For Bayer pattern cameras, XCLIB-Lite does provide the same demosaicked, color-corrected, white-balanced, and gamma-corrected ready-to-use RGB pixel data as XCLIB, but does not provide access to raw Bayer data.
XCLIB-Lite allows up to 64 MB of frame buffer memory but does not provide "pointer" access to frame buffers. It can't be used with the PXIPL Image Processing and Analysis Library. Use of video setup configuration files is supported, but the file cannot be compiled into the application. If this limited version works for you, you may want to benefit from its economical advantage. If you will need the full-feature set at a later time, you can upgrade to the full version of XCLIB, and programs written in XCLIB-Lite will be upward-compatible.
