AutocueQTV JL Cooper ES-450 SP RS-422 Controller

The JL Cooper ES-450 SP RS-422 Controller from Autocue/QTV is recommended by Autocue as a jog/shuttle remote controller for Autocue's four video servers -- the 2-port SD/HD, 4-port SD/HD, 4-port HD, and high capacity 4-port HD. It supports 24, 25, 29.97, and 30 fps workflows.

It can also be used for servers from Sony, Panasonic, JVC, Doremi, Grass Valley, Harris, and others, and for various video recorders, including VTRs and DDRs. It features a dual channel RS-422 interface for controlling any two of these. It's ideal for professional and semi-professional VTRs and DDRs that support Sony 9-pin protocol (P2 protocol).

This controller features a VTR-style Jog/Shuttle wheel that allows convenient picture search operations. The function buttons have a natural-feeling key arrangement with clear labels, and the transport keys are tactile and easily reachable. Buttons for forward play, reverse play, rewind, fast forward, still/stop, shuttle select, frame +, frame, mark in, mark out, and eject are positioned around the wheel. In addition, crash/full, assemble, insert video, A1, A2, A3, and A4 modes are included for recording control.

A numeric keypad provides access for direct time-code entry and lets you easily enter "search to time" locate operations. A backlit LCD provides time-code display and supports drop, non-drop, VITC/LTC, and CTL time-codes. The controller can effectively edit sound, music, and video. An audio split function allows audio edit in-points to be set differently from the video edit in-points. You can also perform remote track arming and forward/reverse frame bumps. And 7 locate points enable sending transports instantly.
