Eartec Monarch Overview

The Eartec Monarch Headset with Inline PTT & 2-Pin Kenwood Connector was originally designed for use with commercial speech recognition computers. This lightweight headset is made of PBT, which makes it suitable for use even in rough industrial environments. The slender back band of the headset offers a unisex fit, whether on the floor of a TV studio or inside the cab of a crane. The Push-to-Talk button acts as the intermediary between the headset and the transceiver while allowing users to wear their radios clipped to their belt.

Eartec Monarch Reviews

Short Cable

These work great but the only downside is the cable is too short for use in production. Be nice if it was 4-6 inches longer.

Much better quality.

This headset is way more robust. It's a little heavier but you get used to it. I'd definitely buy another one.

The system is totally reliable as it is compatible.

Pretty good product, especially for the price point

First the negatives. - The product at first glance looks and feels kind of cheap but for the price point you get what you pay for. - The plastic is light weight which is good for comfort but it just feels kind of flimsy and I don't expect it to last more than a year or two after using it everyday. But like I said before, for the price, its actually kind of a steal. - There are 5 pins on this headset, but the 5th pin actually doesn't connect to anything. So I had to solder a bridge between the 4th and 5th pin in order to hear program audio being fed from the camera. Not the biggest deal, but since its advertised as 5 pins it would be nice for all 5 pins to be connected and function. - The microphone arm isn't as sturdy as I would expect from a new product, I anticipate that losing its strength fairly quickly. The Good - The price, I've said it before but this is a steal compared to comparable products. - The comfort, this headset is light weight and pretty comfortable around the ears and neck. I start feeling my ears get pinched after a few hours of wearing it. It could have a little more space where the ear phone and the neckband connect, but all and all its way more comfortable than any other work headsets I have used. It isn't as comfortable as my music headset, but it also has a lot more function. - The style, I love the look of the headset. The mic and mic screen could afford to be smaller and more sleek but all and all this thing looks better than a traditional headset. All and all I am very happy with this purchase despite needing to make some soldering adjustments. The price and style make all of the negatives worth while. I would consider buying this product again in the future. I would even spend more if it made the improvements that I suggested.

Yes. As long as the system has a four-pin XLR output.
