Rescued my flash gear

I recently purchased a Sony A6700, my first new camera in a long time. All my flash gear uses Sony's older shoe design. This gadget saved me from having to buy new flash units. Works well, all the TTL and remote functions work fine.

Will TTL metering/flash function work with an old Canon EX430 and a new a6000?

This adapter is not compatible with the Sony a6000 and a Canon 430EX flash. There is not a way to get TTL metering with a Canon flash on a Sony camera.

question

If yo have a flash which has AF Assist Light (for example Minolta 5200i) an you adapt it to an A7 with this adapter, will the AF Assit Light work?
Asked by: Anonymous
This adapter does expand accessory compatibility by allowing use of older Sony Alpha accessories such as viewfinders and flashes. However you will need to test out the product to see if all of the functionality comes over and your results may vary from product to product.

question

Can I put a canon flash like ex580 on a a7r camera with this adaptor?
Asked by: Anonymous
Both the a7R and 580EX have a standard shoe design, so you wouldnt need a hot shoe adapter to mount the flash onto the camera. That being said, while the a7R might be able to fire the 580EX, there will be no auto functions.
