Antelope Eclipse 384 Stereo AD/DA Converter and Isochrone 10M Clock Bundle
Key Features
  • Two 64-Bit DSP Trinity-Level Clocks
  • Sync up to Four Digital Sources at Once
  • Gold-Plated Relay Attenuators
  • Flexible Monitoring System
The Antelope Audio Eclipse 384 Stereo AD/DA Converter and Isochrone 10M Clock Bundle is a mixing/mastering audio interface and a master atomic clock. The converter uses two oven-controlled low-jitter 64-bit Trinity-level master clocks to simultaneously sync up to four digital sources such as a CD recorder or another digital audio converter to common time. The converter is housed in a 2 rack-unit chassis and can convert analog to digital and digital to analog at up to 384 kHz sample rate. Audio can be transferred to the computer through the high-speed USB interface. To eliminate digital crosstalk, the device uses separate analog and digital power supplies.

Antelope Eclipse 384 Overview

For monitoring, the device includes a separate D/A converter. This allows you to use the main D/A converter to play backing tracks, the main A/D converter to record to different devices, and the monitor D/A converter to listen to the recording. The monitor controller uses gold-plated relay attenuators to stereo balance the outputs within 0.05 dB accuracy.

For outputs, the unit includes three sets of switchable stereo analog balanced outputs, an LFE bass management system with subwoofer output, two separate headphone outputs, and two cue outputs. The cue outputs feature an integrated talkback circuit so that the engineer can communicate with the musicians. The converter allows you to save and name up to five presets so you can easily recall any combination of the device's settings.

The bundle also includes the Antelope Audio Isochrone 10M Master Clock, which uses a Rubidium atomic core to be 100,000 times more accurate than a traditional quartz oscillator clock. To achieve this, the clock is housed in a sturdy 2 rack-unit mechanical chassis, features a row of eight BNC outputs, and has an easy-to-read display. In addition to clocking the Eclipse 384 converter, the unit can be used to master clock other Antelope Audio clocks such as the Trinity and OCX.

Converter
The converter has a main A/D converter up to 384 kHz sample rate, a Burr-Brown D/A chip up to 384 kHz, and a separate monitoring D/A converter
Clock
The converter uses an internal oven to maintain a constant temperature in the converter's two 64-bit DSP Trinity clock oscillators. The constant temperature of the oscillator enhances dynamics, details, and the stereo image of the conversion
Display
The interface features a multi-function display that shows the main volume level, the converter sample rate, and the current source input
Rubidium Core
The 10M clock has a rubidium core that is accurate to 0.03 parts per billion and stable to within 1 second per 1,000 years
10 MHz Reference
The clock provides eight BNC outputs at 10 MHz and will work with any device that accepts a 10 MHz reference clock
Dual Power
The clock uses dual redundant power supplies with automatic switchover
