Dot Line DL-V/MB Reviews
Flimsy, breaks easily, poor quality control, doesn't even block out light properly. Don't buy this. Save some money for the proper gear, you wont regret it.
Broke on first day
The way the flaps attach to the Matte Box is very poor. One of the brackets on the top flap broke as soon as I attached it. I had to use it the same day, so it still worked fine, as long as I rested the top flap against the side ones.
Great buy for the price
I used with the black magic camera 2.5k and it worked great. Great buy for the price.
Well-constructed and great for the price
I use this mostly for bright outdoor video or photography when lens glare isn't desirable -- the only thing I wasn't TOO happy with was that I have to get a step-up mount pad to raise my camera up higher to center the lens in the matte box -- it just looks weird with the matte box at its lowest position and the lens resting at the bottom of the opening. other than that, it works great, is sturdy, and looks good! I've already got a couple people wanting to buy one for themselves now.
Cheap and Nasty
Sure it was cheap but I wasn't expecting the attachment clips on the top Flap (Barn Door?) to snap off while I was attaching it to the main body. I had to cut off the excess material left over from the clips and add some narrow aluminium straps that I could screw together around the main body attachment points and onto the flap in order to make use of the product. A few daps of matt black paint and I was away laughing. So far so good...it does the job I was looking for.
Great inexpensive solution
I like it for the price, and will use it a lot, but the joints that hold the doors are moulded of plastic and will eventually snap off if not handled carefully. Otherwise it fits well to my camera and is light weight.
