I purchased this to use with a Celestron Evolution 6 inch telescope. I have used it with a variety of lenses and it works very well. It is very well made (Celestron quality as I would expect.) B&H service impeccable as always!

Cant beat it for the price

Seems very solidly made. I bought two to stack them together for total 6.25x. Stacking them is pushing things a bit. With the addition of the camera its also a bit unwieldy on the telescope. Using them for imaging Jupiter and Saturn with my Skywatcher Flextube 250P 10 Dobs and ZWO ASI294MC Pro camera. In poor seeing conditions I was able to get the attached picture of Jupiter. After much time processing (still learning) I got the pictures of Jupiter and Saturn you see here.

I tried a 3-element 2x Barlow, which was really heavy. In comparison, the 4-element 2.5x Barlow weighs about half as much but is built like a tank. Fit and finish are perfect. Lens comes with a black pouch plus front and read caps. In use, this lens seemed to be easier to use with my 12 Sky Watcher and Nikon D5300 than the 2x Barlow.

This appears to be awesome!

I ordered this early so when the Celestron NexStar SE8 becomes available, I will have it in hand ready to use. It is solid and weighs almost a pound. When I receive the Celestron NexStar SE8, I will update my review.

Great build high quality ....1 flaw!

Great build and the quality of the Barlow is excellent ..using it really brings planets , nebula and galaxies closer into view. The only downside it the 1 adjustment screw on the compression ring it has to be cranked down tight or the eyepiece feels loose like it might fall out ...it really needs 2 or 3 adjustment screws

Worked great for my dobsonian

Works well, clear, just what I needed for my dobsonian. Most articles recommended a 2X, but for me, a 2.5X was better for views of Saturn. A little blurry for rings, but I think thats just my viewing conditions.

Which is better, the Televue 2X Barlow or this ...

Which is better, the Televue 2X Barlow or this Luminos 2X? Anyone have experience with both of these?
Asked by: Roger
I have a 2x 1.25 Barlow as well as this, but when I use a 1.25 eyepiece in this with the adapter I cannot tell the difference, they are both near perfect. My light meter says there is a 4% loss of light with both Barlows. You wouldn't notice that at all, maybe a camera would, but not even an eye with an infinite focus lens from cataract surgery. I cannot speak about a 2" Tele Vue Barlow because I haven't used one.

question

Will this work in a XT8 with 2 eye pieces 32mm and up? (lower) Will the XT8 have enough back focus for this?
Asked by: Bradley
@Marc TThanks Marc for the response and I apologize for thanking you so late. When I asked this the product that was on my mind was the Baader Hyperion Mark-III Zoom. I don't have a clue why I asked this about this Barlow, old and senile, other than I had planned to use this with the Baader. I did order this and the Baader Zoom. My Luminos 2.5x is actual APO and even said so on the box. I was pleasantly surprised with this. Has been cloudy since arrival so no chance to play with yet. Thanks again for your help...
