Great Counter Weight for Studio

Good weight for my photo studio. This is a much better solution than sandbags — they stay firmly in place and don’t wobble. I just wish they also came in black, since I don’t like colorful details in the studio; they can create more noticeable reflections on glossy surfaces in product photography.

It just works.

This type of weight is not for every situation, but it works great in many situation where the compact size, and how it clamps onto a stand is ideal for one man photo shoots in situations where a low profile is best. Highly recommended.

question

The plate tightens down, but there's no way it would tighten enough to be secured to a grip arm. Are you supposed to remove the HEX screws and move the plate to the lower section, using only two screws?
Asked by: Josh
I've tried this on an Impact KPC-240 grip arm. The arm is too small in diameter. This weight will not tighten down enough for it to fit this arm. Not to mention the end of the black plate which has the rubber on it hangs up on the rubber that's in the channel in the weight. Loosening the HEX screws doesn't solve this issue. Disappointing to say the least consider it's an Impact grip arm and an Impact weight. Ugh.
