The Vello CB-510 Dual Shoe Bracket with Silicon Rubber Grip is a side bracket that attaches to the bottom of your camera and provides two cold shoes, one on top and one on the side, for attaching lights and other accessories. An included dual-purpose thumbscrew enables mounting the bracket along with a camera onto a tripod, fluid head, ball head or other gear. The thumbscrew features a 1/4" stud on top and a 1/4" female thread underneath. A silicon rubber grip will serve as an effective handle when you use this bracket solely with a camera, and as a pan handle when you mount it on a tripod.

The two shoe mounts will let you light your subjects from the side and will also free up your camera's shoe mount. The bracket is 4.5" wide, 5" in height, and is compatible with most camcorders and DSLRs. The thumbscrew is adjustable 2.5" along the width.

Note: A TTL cord is strongly recommended when using a flash combined with a DSLR. The bracket might not sufficiently support a typical hot shoe flash attached directly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Best One I've Used This Vello Bracket is the only one I've used that has silicone rubber on both the top and bottom of the mounting rail so it grips to the bottom or your camera and if you are using it on a tripod the underside rubber will grip better and prevent slippage. The 1/4 thumb screw on this bracket has a lower profile than either the Sima or General Brackets and this helps to prevent wobbling or slippage when using on a tripod and allows your to better tighter and secure your cameras to the bracket. I purchased both the Vello and the General (which was Bower Branded) and the Vello is far superior due to the dual sided rubber pad and lower profile thumb screw. This is the one to buy

Rated 5 out of 5 by from good product, not for me The product itself seems great. Solid and well constructed. I just realized after a little testing that I'm not a fan of mounting everything directly atop a DSLR. It all ends up too unbalanced and unwieldy, and this also means a smaller surface area to attach to a tripod (just the area of the bottom knob rather than the much larger area of the bottom of the camera), so I sent it back. However, that's just my personal preference, and what I saw of the product is that it's well made. it's got multiple mounting options and a nice rubber grip that can help stabilize handheld shots. If that's your thing, this seems like a good way to get it done.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Useful for Sony Handycam I bought this product because the shoe on the top of my Sony Handycam is sunk down into the camera. This is a way for Sony to get you to buy their accessories. However, I bought a SHURE shotgun microphone because it is better than anything Sony makes, so I needed to find a way to mount the mic. This attaches to the bottom of the camera easily and still allows you to mount it on a tripod/stand. It has two shoes for different placements or double accessories. The only thing that is to be desired is that the ergonomics of the handle are not great. I have big hands and this limits the space you can hold the actual camera, so I'm stuck using the bracket grip.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from GREAT product This is a great product. It's very sturdy and best of all the metal attachments are bolted onto the arm. Other similar arms I've bought have screws that come loose within a few uses and cannot EVER be tightened back to how they came. This is a solid utility arm for connecting lights, mics and anything else with an accessory shoe attachment.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from compact & simple There isn't much to directly compete with this grip. It's strong, will nestle close to the camera body for on camera storage, provides 2 off camera mounts and is very rigid. I have used it for a couple years with a Fuji X-T1 and works beautifully with it. It useally supports a led panel light and a shougun microphone. I too had a shoe pop off & had to superglue it back on (it's held). The grip could be a little beefier to reduce finger strain, but one could always wrap it in order to make it a little more comfortable for long term use. The grip also smells like it was retrieved from an ash heap. It smells like it's been burned and can impart that odor to your hand. Nothing's perfect I suppose.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Vello Cb-510 Dual Shoe Bracket With Comfortable Silicon Grip This is a worthwhile accessory for shooting with a camcorder which does not have an accessory shoe. I put a light on the top and a wireless mic. receiver on the side so I can do follow motion shots. It is well made. The grip is comfortable with my combination of equipment. It also works on the tripod so I can quickly go from fixed to handheld. I WISH they made one that had two handles still with room for the camcorder's fold out monitor and two more shoes. Such things for pro cameras are way, way too expensive. You could stack two of these in a pinch.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Accessory enlarging possibilities of cameras I had already purchased the light and microphones but I couldn't place there at my cameras. I have Sony RX100M3 which doesn't have any shoe and I have DSLR Nikon camera which has one shoe only. I can place light at compact camera and microphone connected with Sony recorder, and I can place light and additional microphone at DSLR camera used Vello CB-510 Dual Shoe Bracket. There are many different shoe brackets but Vello CB-510 is made very carefully thought out and fundamentally. Vello CB-510 has optimal sizes and comfortable handles.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Second Purchase I already bought one of these, to rig my 6D with a light, shotgun Mic etc for video work. The silicon strip helps grip the camera's underside, and the similar rubber handle is comfortable. This bracket screws into your camera tripod lug, and is slotted, so you can slide the handle along to adjust the lateral distance from the camera body. It grips firmly to the underside of my DSLR, and the TWO cold-shoe mounts give me some nice flexibility to add my video accessories, whilst keeping the on-camera hotshoe free! A great little item!
