Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing! Wow! I love this product, currently using it with my Sony A77. I used to have its brother Rapid Fire PRO (without arca-swiss release) and I had issues with anti-twist brackets touching some buttons on my camera front, so I couldnt fully use them and my camera was still able to twist. Now all my issues are gone! I am using with this bracket sunwayfoto quick release plate attached to my camera and I am able to connect my hand grip belt to the quick release plate, and they all work pretty fine. Now how easy and fast the put the camera onto the bracket is amazing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product Although a bit pricey, I really love this product when compared to other flash brackets. I especially like the low profile design and its light weight. It is extremely easy to operate with one smooth motion and the build quality is second to none. Great for bounce flash or direct flash (when the situation warrants). Combined with a black rapid adapter for black rapid slings and I can shoot an event all day with 70-200mm lens, flash and full frame camera. Great product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great bracket for event shooters I've been looking for a low-profile rotating bracket for shooting fast-moving events, and my extensive web searching led me to the new Custom Brackets Rapid Fire PRO. After using the bracket for a couple of weeks, I can confirm all the positive comments I read from other buyers. The bracket is very solid, well designed, operates smoothly, and packs up compactly for storage. Everything I needed it to do. The only minor issue I had was that the rotating mechanism was very stiff out of the box, to the point I wasn't sure what was supposed to move and what wasn't. After confirming the operation in the manual I gave the slide arm a firm pull and worked it through it's range of motion, then it worked very well, locking into position at each end but rotating with a moderate tug. The other minor quibble is that the knurled knob for tightening the Arca-Swiss clamp is narrow and a little pointy, and I would prefer a wider, blunter knob that won't catch on things. Neither of those issues detracts from this otherwise great bracket, though. Also, make sure to follow the instructions to adjust the height so the bracket is centered over the middle of the lens in portrait orientation. Otherwise the bracket can hit your lens barrel when you rotate it. Simple procedure, but important to do before use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Flash Bracket! Bought this to shoot all the family event candids, now that I have learned flash fill is just pretty indispensable to any decent portrait. The big ole SB 900 or SB 700 hanging off to the left or right of the camera and casting an enormous shadow wasn't working for me anymore. After trying some cheap versions, I learned - once again - with brackets and related camera gear, you get what you pay for. I have LOVED my L bracket on an Arca Swiss tripod lever mount for years and the top camera-hugging surface of this flash bracket easily clamps onto my Nikon D600 (technically onto its L bracket, of course). Since I do some tripod shooting, I also bought the accessory plate that screws semi-permanently to the bottom of this flash bracket and now the whole assembly (the flash bracket holding my camera by its L bracket) - easily fastens with a click onto my tripod's Arca Swiss mount. It all folds quite nicely. The only thing ideally to add to the setup is the pricey shorter accessory Nikon knockoff 9 TTL sync cord. My standard longer one hangs down and it is far less than ideal.I actually mounted a Pocket Wizard Flex TTL mount on this flash bracket and then placed the SB900 on top of it. (I did this so I could trigger several other off camera speedlights as well as simultaneously trigger this on camera on bracket one.) This bracket is so rock solid, it accommodated this leaning Pisa pile of gear quite steadily!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent design There are many camera flash bracket designs out there each with its own selling points. I changed my thinking on what was best for me several times before deciding to purchase this bracket. There are two features that sold me on the Rapid Fire. I liked the fact that I would not have to change the way that I hold and operate my camera when the bracket is attached. The bracket does not interfere with operation of the lens using my left hand from underneath the camera. With this bracket, the right hand grip on my Canon 6D rotates to the top in going from landscape to portrait orientation. Some brackets require that the grip rotate to the bottom in portrait mode which I find very awkward. The other feature that was important to me was the ease and speed in switching from one orientation to the other. I don't think there will be any hesitation to make the switch - hesitation that could result in a missed shot. The orientation of the flash (horizontal) is the same in landscape and portrait modes which, I think, will make the lighting more predictable and easier to control particularly when bouncing. It is not necessary to rotate the flash head when making the switch. For some other brackets, the flash head must be rotated when going from landscape to portraitand using bounce flash. Mounted on the bracket, the height of the flash above the camera is about the same as if the flash were directly attached to the camera. This height remains the same in landscape and portrait orientations. Other brackets hold the flash higher than it would be if mounted directly on the camera to cast the shadow more behind the subject. I wanted to be able to raise the flash higher. As accessories for the RF bracket, I purchased the CB locking shoe mount, K-Tek offset shoe extender, and TTL cable with shoe that together raise the flash about 4 inches. The bracket is well built and operates smoothly. I use it with the RRS L-bracket. I have only had the bracket a short time but so far I am happy with my purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simply.... OUTSTANDING! Simply outstanding sums this product up in a nutshell. It is expensive, but after using it the first time you will never give a second thought to its cost. If you are looking for a professional bracket that allows the instant switching of shooting positions in a lightweight and very compact folding unit look no further.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Custom Brackets Rotating Bracket is the best It is lightweight, EZ to carry in gear bag, and works great. This is my second flash bracket and I love this one that I through out the other. Its fast simple and keeps the flash over the lens to prevent shadows. Its all Aluminum and rock solid with positive locks that you can feel. only wish is that it cost less.
