The Base from Livid Instruments is a fully customizable MIDI controller with 32 pressure sensitive, backlit trigger pads, nine touch sensitive sliders and eight touch sensitive buttons that can be used with your favorite software for drum programming, effect tweaking and more.
The Base's trigger pads are capable of sensing velocity as well as pressure. These features can be useful for adding variation in dynamics to your MIDI drum patterns, or for triggering synth patches that respond to MIDI aftertouch. Plus, each pad has an RGB light that is bright enough to be seen even in the daylight.
In addition to the drum pads, the Base offers another level of control via touch sensitive sliders and buttons. The sliders transmit note and velocity information that respond as you hit or slide your finger up and down them. The buttons can be used in tandem with the sliders for another level of expression and MIDI control. Also, using the web based editor, the buttons and sliders can be set to transmit the MIDI messages of your choosing for customized functionality. You can save different settings for the sliders in the 10 available presets that can be switched between on the fly.
