Manfrotto Mega Umbrella Reviews
Great Umbrella
I have used the Profoto Deep white L and XL for years. At about $430.00 I did not want to spring for a new Profoto Deep Silver XL. This does the job. It seems nearly as well built as a Profoto Deep XL It's an umbrella, they are all inherently fragile, The larger ones will sail in the wind outside. I expect this to last just like my other umbrellas. I use it with a D2 indoors and the light quality is everything I expected. It is soft when used in close with more specularity - sightly crisper highlights than a white umbrella. Is it the same control as a Broncolor Para or a Parabolix ? No, but it is a lovely light. For 70% of why people use those high end silver interior parabolic reflectors this kind of umbrella will do.
Customer service a let down
I was so excited to use this. Setting up was a breeze. I also purchased the tri flash bracket to use with it. I was had it set-up outside with 40lbs of weight at the base of the stand. Turns out it wasn't enough :o( I contacted the manufacturer on several occasions to see if I could get it repaired. No one has gotten back to me. So disapointed.
