The black Mens Documentary Chestvest from Newswear is a more compact alternative to the Mens Digital and Medium Chestvests. It accommodates 2 smaller-size digital SLR camera bodies, like the Nikon D800 or Canon EOS 6D, as well as 2 telephoto lenses and accessories. Most telephotos--including a 70-200mm f/2.8, and a 300mm f/4--will fit into the 2 center pockets. Four main compartments are supplemented by four more accessory pockets inside each flap, and touch-fastener closures secure your camera gear inside. Adjustable buckles and straps make for a one-size-fits-all design that quickly adjusts to virtually any body size or shape, helps keep you cool in warm weather, and fits over winter clothing when it's cold out. The vest distributes the weight of its load across your chest, back, waist and shoulders, allowing you to remain comfortable and stress-free. It's constructed from durable 420 Denier Crinkle Nylon, which is resistant to both water and stains and made in the U.S.A.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fast and Comfortable I have had news wear products since they came to market quite a few years ago and like so many other photographers the constant search for how to carry cameras and lenses on the go sent me in many other directions. I probably own 50 camera bags and back packs and of course there is no perfect bag. The NewsWear gives me the most practical solution in a lightweightl close to the body carrier that gives me quick access to everything I need such as lenses, bodies, accessories, cleaning stuff, etc. in a virtualey weightless vest that distributes the weight across my shoulders. I couple that with a PeakDesign system that allows me to have a camera and lens at the ready all the time. Now, it might look a little weird or even like a weapon but people get used to it soon enough as you will too. Carry safe, comfortable, and ready for the next shot. This review only allows 5 stars. The vest and the peakdesign deserve a lot more than that.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Looks cooler in person. At first I thought I might look like a nerd wearing this. But after it arrived I realized it turns you into a photojournalist stud. Wear this with a nice scarf and you will be unstoppable. This is the best way I have found to carry my kit around on long assignments. No more sore neck and back issues. I think I will buy more products from Newswear. In this vest I was able to fit in my 70-200mm 2.8, Sigma 20mm Art 1.4, Sigma 50mm 1.4, and an SB-900. There is also enough room to fit in a 24-70mm 2.8, instead of the large Sigma 20mm. Strongly recommended.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Indispensible piece of gear I shoot video. When you work with a large sensor handheld camera shooting documentaries, you need to have several other lenses at your disposal. If you have to continually go back to a lens case or backpack, you're wasting time and losing shots. So when I saw the Chestvest, it looked like a solution. About two minutes into my first assignment with it, I knew it was invaluable. I had with me another two lenses, a complete radio mike package, additional memory cards, gaffer tape, etc. The producer wanted to use the radio mike immediately. There it was - receiver, transmitter, cables and mike - in one pocket along with spare batteries. Change a lens? Pull open one of the pockets in front of me and there it was. Store the lens I was taking out of the camera - there were the lens caps and in it goes into another pocket. Fast, easy, accessible. It just work so well.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Quite better than expected The material and stitching is top notch - better than expected. The pouches are lightly paded - another plus. However, the shoulder strap can be better. Employing a conventional sliding adjustment system, instead of the current velcro, would greatly advance its range of adjustability and security - what happens to the equipments if the velcro should fail. Lastly, the men's version's shoulder strap frontal attachment points are on the belly which sort of chokes the sides of the neck over time. The women versions' (not available for Documentary model, but availble for Medium and Digital) attachment ponints that are closer to the sides of body prevents such choking - yet, such configuration would somehow compromise the vest's weight bearing capacity. I had mine fixed with my local tailor to have women's version like attachment. Now I can wear it all day without taking it off. Newswear should take a note.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for transporting gear in crowded environments This system is fantastic for transporting photo gear in crowded environments where a shoulder bag or sling bag would get in the way. It is very convenient to access lenses and accessories out of the pouches and is much easier on the lower back than shoulder and sling bags.
