The ASK-4 #431 Audio Monitoring Kit from Louroe Electronics is a single-zone audio monitoring system that consists of a IF-1 Audio Interface Adapter, a RN-2 Audio Mixer, 2 Verifact A Microphones, a Single RCA Cable for connecting to a DVR / VCR, an 3.5mm Stereo Cable for connecting to a Sound Card, IP Network Camera or Video Server with stereo audio input, an RCA to 3.5mm Mono Adapter for connecting to an IP Camera with a 3.5mm mono audio input, and an AD-1 Plug-in Switching AC Adapter.
The IF-1 Audio Interface Adapter serves as an interconnection device between a Louroe electret condenser microphone and a DVR / VCR, computer sound card, or IP network cameras with audio and video servers with audio. Input side contains a terminal block to receive wiring from the microphone and a jack for 12VDC power input. The output side contains 2 types of connections to accommodate almost all recording device audio inputs. It consists of a RCA output for connecting to a DVR / VCR with an RCA input and a 3.5mm (mini jack) stereo output for connecting to a computer soundcard or DVR with a 3.5mm stereo audio input. The IF-1 Interface Adapter also has a variable gain adjust to prevent overdriving of the audio signal. A 12VDC power is included for sending phantom power to the microphone.
The RN-2 Audio Mixer is used for combining 2 Louroe microphones or speaker / microphones for the purpose of expanding the area to be audio monitored. It has an input side (terminal block) for accepting the 2 microphones and an output side (terminal block) for home running back to a Louroe audio base station or to other audio receiving devices. The RN-2 Audio Mixer contains a potentiometer for microphone balance control. It receives phantom power from the Louroe base station.
The Verifact A Microphone is an omni-directional, low impedance, electret condenser microphone with a built-in preamp for producing line level audio. It is housed in a high impact ABS dome designed for ceiling or wall mounting. The normal pick-up pattern is approximately 15' (4.57m) from the microphone location towards all directions, or within 30' (9.14m) diameter circle. It is suitable for use in convenience stores, fast food restaurants, booking rooms, interrogation rooms, day care centers, sleep disorder centers, therapy labs, cashier booths, gas stations, or anyplace where CCTV cameras are installed.
Wiring requirements: 2 conductor shielded cable, 22 gauge with a 24 gauge drain wire. Unshielded cable is not suitable for audio systems.
When this equipment is used as part of an audio monitoring system, the law requires that the public be given notice of audio monitoring on the premises. A decal notice is included with each microphone shipped.
