I have these on 4 cameras, 3 of which are RX100’s carried on a sling strap secured to one lug. These are my travel cameras. I travel 4-6 months each year (this year 5). Always stuck on, never lifted. Probably makes sense to wipe the shutter button with alcohol prior to attachment. I did.

Provides a smooth and secure feel to the shutter release button. It does tend to come off in hot conditions. Thus it's a good idea to have a few in the bag.
