Aurora Multimedia DXE-CAT-TX2 Overview

The Aurora Multimedia Digital Xtreme DXE-CAT-TX2 HDBaseT & LAN Transmitter transmits up to a 1080p/60 video signal with as much as 36-bit color depth and with embedded audio 230 ft to any DXE-CAT receiver equipped with an HDBaseT port. Additional to the HDBaseT port, the transmitter also has two LAN ports. These are for sending the 1080p/60 signal with audio up to 600 ft over a CAT 6a shielded cable at 24bit color depth. Any DXE-CAT receiver with LAN ports is compatible for LAN transfer. LAN port 1 is for transferring the signal with Power-over-Ethernet, and LAN 2 for the signal only.

The transmitter/receiver set requires only one power supply (model # PS0080-1-US), sold separately. Power is sent to the other unit over Ethernet (Power-over-HDBaseT). Alternatively, you can use just an optional PoE switch to power both units. The drawback to using the HDBaseT port is being able to transfer only 230 ft compared to 600 ft. Input from a video source is by HDMI.

The transmitter additionally features TRS connectors for bi-directional RS-232 serial and IR remote control. For IR control, you would need an optional Aurora IR emitter or receiver. Either can be used on the transmitter end as long the other is installed on the receiver end.
