How can I purchase the charger?

We do not sell Power Supplies for this product at this time. Your best bet will be to reach out to Seagate directly to see if they have it available as a Service Part.

question

Is the power adaptor suitable for 240V using in Australia ?
Asked by: Chi L.
March 2019: Yes. I bought two of these and both came with five different plug adapters that affix to a modular power cord (w/o its own terminals). Useful set, though these aren't really meant for travel. EU AC input plug, p/n 100693228 US/CN AC input plug, p/n 100693227 UK AC input plug, p/n 100693229 KR AC input plug, p/n 100693230 AU AC input plug, p/n 100693231 This probably doesn't matter, but the UK one has a plastic dummy ground plug. All the rest are two-prong. Hope this helps.

What is the difference between a regular external portable hard drive and a portable backup plus?
Asked by: Raymond
If they are both USB 3, they are pretty much the same (assuming they're the same capacity): Backup Plus is Seagate's branding. Different brands and models typically have different controlling microcode, number of platters, various refinements and sometimes different rotational speeds. Some may bundle backup software, and some may even have "built-in" encryption (which often is not as secure as it should be).
