Good way to offload SSD data in the fiel
We needed a way to offload video footage in the field from our Blackmagic Cinema Camera (which records to SSDs). We wanted Thunderbolt speed because the files are big. This unit did the trick. It is designed for use with their Backup Plus or GoFlex drives, but seems to work with any SSD just fine. However, with a thin SSD, the design of this thing isn't quite right and causes your drive to sorta hang at an angle. It is built for thicker drive housings rather than just a naked SSD drive. This doesn't impact it working though. We put a little spacer (just a thin bit of sticky notes stack really) and had no issues.

working great with my Atomos!
I'm using this with my Atomos Samurai Blade. Works great to transfer the footage quickly. Of course, since it's not technically meant to be used this way, your drive will not fit perfectly on it. I put a little spacer for the drive to sit on as the Seagate drives it's meant to hold are taller. It also doesn't lock in as far as the intended drives, but it's far enough to quickly transfer your footage. YAY!

Portable, small and easy to use
This thunderbolt adapter has worked great with my portable SSD drives. Easy to use, basically plug-n-play. I have used it for about one month with my iMac to transfer video clips from my BMCC. Portable small and light weight. Not issues thus far, it does get a little hot over long use. Does not come with a thunderbolt cable else I would have given it five stars.
