The titanium colored MeFoto GlobeTrotter Carbon Fiber Travel Tripod Kit offers a sturdy, compact tripod that extends to 64.2", supports up to 26.4 lb, and folds down to just over 16". The GlobeTrotter is actually two camera supports in one: a foam-cushioned, removable leg attaches to the center column to convert to full size monopod.

The tripod's legs can be spread independently with two-position leg angle stops. A spring-loaded hook is located in a recess at the bottom of the center column, allowing you to hang a heavy object from it for additional stability.

The ball head offers separate head and pan locks, a 360° pan index, and an integral bubble level. An Arca-Swiss style quick release plate with a 1/4"-20 camera screw is included in the kit, along with a durable carry case with a shoulder strap for storage and transport.

GlobeTrotter Carbon Fiber Travel Tripod Kit (Titanium) is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 156.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Better than Manfroto BeFree I do a lot of travel photography as a hobbyist, which requires me to attach a tripod to a backpack and fly with it. After trying the Manfrotto BeFree first because of it's price, I had to move on and try this one and found it is way better and worth the price for the following reasons: - Way smoother, more professional head included - Thicker ends of legs when fully extended make for a more sturdy travel tripod than the BeFree - Hook in center column if you wanted to add a sandbag / weight I would highly recommend this tripod for the traveling photography that has to put everything on his / her back and is concerned about weight, but still wants a relatively sturdy platform for things like long exposure and time lapse, which are two things I do a lot of.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent tripod Last year I purchased the Mefoto Globetrotter Aluminum model, it too is a wonderful tripod but too heavy. I bought it to take to Malta with us on our 50th anniversary and it was just over the comfortable weight margin, so I sold it when I got back. I have now purchased the Carbon Fiber model and it is excellent. That almost (1) pound less makes a huge difference. I have been using my D700 with battery grip and Nikon 16-35 f4.0 vr g lens and my Nikon 28-300 lens and they work supburb with the Carbon Fiber model. The head holds the camera like it should and if you put set the correct drag on the head it is very accurate so you get straight lines straight on buildings shots.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Tripod for Photographers in the Field I used this tripod for the first time yesterday, and I absolutely love it! It's sturdy, but light enough for photographers on the go. I decided to purchase the Globetrotter Carbo Fiber Model rather than the slightly-lighter RoadTrip Carbon Fiber Model because the head was a little beefier, and I wanted to make sure that I didn't have any issues with the weight of my Nikon D800E together with the Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8. This tripod did not disappoint. All of the adjustment and leg-locking knobs are very smooth, and comfortable to use. I think it's a great value for the price. I would definitely recommend this to a friend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Represents everything that I need This tripod is my 4th tripod and represents everything that I need. Before Mefoto, I have had - Gitzo Traveler series 1. Was 13 long and weighs only 2.2 lb. I've been using it for 2 years and I understood that 16 long, also fits my travel needs, it could be little stronger (heavier) but that's OK. I sold my Gitzo for $540 and bought that one, also carbon. I was thinking little bit about aluminum, but I know, during my travel paint can be scared and aluminum legs can bend if I stand on it what may happen. Since I moving more for filming, easy making monopod is additional benefits for me. I'm 6'2 fully extended monopod is too tall for me but this is good.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is a great travel tripod Great tripod for travel, it fits in most check-on and some carry-on luggage. it's weight is also a big plus. For it's size it is very sturdy. It's great with my Nikon D-810 with an 80-400 zoom lens. I purchased it to replace my Manfrotto 055 carbon fiber tripod. The only thing that I didn't like were the feet, having to remove the rubber feet to install the spiked feet. One thing to purchase extra with the tripod is the Gitzo rubber/spiked feet. They add a little more stability to the legs depending on the surface

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Still needs some refinement but nothing better on the market I needed a strong and very light travel tripod. The ball head is good quality with smooth motion and nice control nobs but with heavy gear (about half of the tripod rating) it starts to have some trouble. The angle of the legs should be increased slightly to increased stability. This is especially evident when everything is fully extended. The built in weight hook is nice, the legs are stiff and the fittings are high quality. I am shooting with a Nikon D500 and a range of lenses. My biggest glass is a Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 200-400mm f/4 ED VR II Lens. The tripod can handle this but only with caution. Despite room for some improvements, I would recommend this tripod particularly for travel or as a first good quality tripod.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice Little Tripod! I needed a tripod I could fit into my luggage and for hikes. Wanted something sturdy. Often highly portable translates into highly flimsy but not in this case. It supports my Canon 7D MK ll and Canon 70-200mm quite nicely. The components don't feel cheap and operate as advertised. The tripod case is a tad small, but certainly adequate. The only mechanical issue I had was with the ball head-it loosened from the tripod a little too readily for my taste. I thought of using Loctite on the 3/8th screw but was concerned I may not be able to remove the head in the future. I found a very simple solution! I cut out a washer from material used to stop tools from sliding around in a drawer. Problem solved! Looking forward to lots of trips with this tripod! Thanks B&H.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good light duty tripod Handy tripod for my D610 with modest lenses--I would NOT use it with large telephotos. If I didn't need it fully extended, I would collapse the last sections to improve rigidity. (On hindsight, I think I would have preferred a three-section tripod even if it would have meant a longer collapsed length.) The weight of the D610 also required me to screw on the head more--I finally used a dab of adhesive to keep the head secured.
