The Viper Night Vision Monocular with Head Gear from ATN is a lightweight close-range NVD kit for hands-free viewing in low light conditions. This unmagnified NVD has a manual focus objective lens that allows the operator to focus on subjects within four feet. The Viper monocular's first generation intensifier tube delivers 40 lp/mm typical resolution, and the tube also has auto-brightness control circuitry that continuously adjusts the displayed image for optimal image quality.
The Viper's built-in infrared illuminator is capable of flooding the night vision scene with infrared light and helping the observer to 'see' in complete darkness. A 35mm f/1.4 lens system transmits a wide angle of view that is well-suited for recreational activities like hunting and camping. The included head gear has adjustable straps for a custom fit and forehead padding for additional comfort. The head gear's monocular mounting rail is wide enough to accommodate two Viper monoculars for binocular viewing. A dovetail rail atop the Viper's housing makes dismounting the monocular from the head gear for handheld viewing both quick and easy.
