Peavey PVi 8500 Overview

Designed for musicians, the Peavey PVi 8500 is an all-in-one, 8-channel mixer/amplifier that delivers 400W of peak power amplification for crystal-clear audio reproduction in small- to medium-sized clubs, houses of worship, or event spaces.

The PVi 8500 features eight XLR-1/4" combo inputs equipped with the company's high-quality mic preamps for plugging any microphone of your choice as well as guitars, keyboards, and more. You can also connect virtually any stereo music device via RCA and 3.5mm input jacks.

Each channel features a 3-band EQ, level control, monitor send, and FX send. The proprietary Mid Morph EQ effect helps improve tone and clarity of vocals. Feedback is quickly identified and easily removed with the built-in nine-band graphic EQ combined with the company's proprietary FLS Feedback Locating System.

The master section includes monitor and master level controls, an LED meter bridge, and a foot-switchable 24-bit effect processor with reverb, delay, chorus, and more. The proprietary Kosmos-C module uses special circuitry to enrich the sound of your system and add clarity to dull signals. There is also a record output module to send your audio to an external recording device.

When the unit's output signal reaches the top LIMIT LED, the proprietary DDT speaker protection circuit is automatically activated to maximize the power amplifier without incurring distortion.

The built-in Bluetooth receiver lets you playback your music wirelessly from any Bluetooth-enabled device, at a distance up to 33". For convenience, there is also an onboard MP3 player with USB port, SD card reader, and all control functions.

Can you use both the front and rear out puts at the same time?
Asked by: Jerry
Yes, you can use both sets of outputs from the Peavey PVi 8500 Mixer/Amplifier at the same time, as long as they are used for the correct application. The main and monitor outputs on the front panel are used for connection to external power amplifiers or powered speakers, so these outputs bypass the mixer's built-in power amp section. The main and monitor outputs on the back panel are amplified outputs that are used to connect passive speakers.
