  • 1Description

With the RS2 copy stand, the user acquires equipment whose overall design is based on the use of lighter camera systems. The RS2 Copy Stand (#205411) is supplied with an approximately 15.7 x 19.7 x 1" (400 x 500 x 25 mm) non-reflecting, matt black baseboard with printed grid. The column is marked with cm and inch scales and the height is adjusted by a friction drive with nylon bearings (max. 30", 760 mm). The RS2 is supplied with a repro arm with 1/4" mounting screw to hold any of the lighter cameras on the market.

The 30" column is horizontally adjustable but does not feature either a counterbalanced arm or a pivotable head. By using a high level of modularization and a broad range of accessories, Kaiser can fulfill individual requirements.

NOTE: This set contains a 29" column and 16 x 20" baseboard. It DOES NOT include any lights.

    Kaiser RS 2 reviews

Copy Stand RS 2 is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 10.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid I'm using the stand for archiving old books, photos etc that are unsuitable for flat bed scanners. Working with a tethered Canon G9, but the stand will work well with prosumer SLRs. I light the subject with 2 anglepoise desk lights from an office supplies store - better value than Kaiser lighting units. I like the solid construction, hand crank height control and adjustable distance from column. Square grid on base board assists subject alignment. Like all other copy stands in this price range, care is needed to point the camera perpendicular, if you mind about avoiding geometric distortion. A hotshoe-mounted bubble level and/or a small mirror placed facing the camera lens solve this issue.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good entry-level copy stand This is a simple and easy to use copy stand. It allows adjusting the camera height, as well as the distance from the column. The handle that adjusts the height lets you set the distance to the original quickly and accurately. I use the stand with a Sony 14 MP DSLR A290 camera. I recommend a fixed focal length lens for sharp copies, as zoom lenses do not have the same sharpness. The stand is made in Germany, and appears to be of excellent quality of manufacturing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product I'm using the Kaiser RS 2 with a Canon 5D III, RRS quick release plate, and Canon's 100mm IS macro lens to digitalize my 10,000 prints. I use two desk lamps, low heat bulbs, and plain white paper (as diffusers ) for lighting. This is working really well. The stand is solid with the arm fully extended, the carrier has no play, no creep. I'm able to get up to a 5 x 7 print in the frame with the 29 post, that's full frame- no crop factor. I've done over 6,000 prints so far, the work flow is amazingly quick, product is better than the original prints. No cons, easy five stars.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Photographing Coins I use the stand to photograph coins. I needed a stand that was sturdy and the RS2 is just what I was looking for.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid, quality copy stand. I wanted a copy stand that was sturdy, well designed, and would hold a DSLR camera. This stand capably supports my new DSLR with a large macro lens and accepts a standard quick release mount that I use with my camera. The tall rail allows for greater flexibility in selecting focal distances for different subjects. The sturdy and smooth winding mechanism make this copy stand a joy to use. If you need a copy stand I highly recommend this Kaiser RS2.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fully Meets My Needs I am using this stand with a Nikon D800E with a macro lens to copy slides from a light table. The stand is perfectly plumb and square. The camera mount holds the camera and lens without flexing and the mount does not slide out of position.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very solid stand I am glad that I bought this stand instead of other cheaper ones. It is of a high build quality and is strong enough to support an older DSLR camera with heavy lens and no issues. The adjustments are fine and smooth. I would highly recommend this piece.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does The Job This is a sturdy, well built device that does the job. The initial set-up took less than 5 minutes. The one feature that I really like is the way the horizontal arm can be extended with the camera. This is really vital.
