Kaiser RSX Overview

Kaiser Copy Stand RSX with RTX Arm - Features a precise height adjustment system with weight compensation by an integrated coil spring and an extra gear rack. Interchangeable 1/4 and 3/8" threaded camera mounts.

Counter-balanced height adjustment with rack and pinion. Blocking screw to fix height position. RTX camera arm with adjustable and pivotable camera carrier is equipped with spirit level for fine adjustment. Camera can be mounted forwards and backwards.

Camera carrier extends horizontally via rack drive. Solid baseboard with fitted mount for fastening the column. Additional spirit level integrated in the mount facilitates alignment.

Note:
This set includes a 48" Column with RTX Copy Arm and a 20 x 24" Baseboard. It DOES NOT include any lights

It works great, and is extremely sturdy. It is easy to disassemble if you need to travel with it. I very much recommend this if you need a copy stand.

Very good copystand, but overpriced

Gave it 4 stars because it, along with its accessories, are extremely expensive. Otherwise, a 5-star item. The stand is very stable, although I think the RT-1 arm would have been a more convenient Arm to include in this package (it allows positioning the camera vertically). I got this stand for its long column which allows me to use a 60mm or 85mm lenses (on a crop-sensor camera: a Canon 60D) while digitizing books page that are 10 inches in length. Very easy to setup. Doesn't really require instructions.

What is the usable scan area with the upright and RB 5070 DX2 lighting unit attached? I.e., is it slightly less than 20x24"?

The RB5070 DX2 Lighting Units would attach to the corners of the baseboard on this copy stand. That being said, the baseboard would give you a usable surface area closer to 20 x 24".
