The Wooden Camera Shoe Handle Mount is designed to attach the original handles and LCD monitors of the Canon C100, C300, and C500 cameras onto various Wooden Camera products made for these cameras, such as the Top Plate for C100/C300/C500. You can also attach on-camera lights, microphone shock mounts, flashes, and other accessories, and a 1/4" thread at the center will let you attach articulating arms. The mount screws into two holes up to 18mm apart lengthwise and two holes between 33mm and 36mm widthwise. Two screws come included.

Does NOT work on C100 Redrockmicro Ultracage black series

I purchased this in order to be able to attach the Canon top handle with XLR inputs to the top of our Redrock micro Ultaracage black series C100 cage...but the holes do not line up with the holes on top of the cage. A nice part, however, and will come in handy elsewhere if I cannot make it work. I will keep and attempt to make it work with an intermediary cheese plate or nato adapter perhaps.

This thing is high quality as with all of Wooden Camera's products. I have it on the C100 top plate to hold the C100 handle. Easy to install.

What is that rod attachment shown in the picture on the front of the camera/cheese plate?

It's a stop. It 'stops' your attachment sliding all the way thru the front of the shoe. Its removable. very handy.

Will it work with the Zacuto Helmet (top plate) for the C300 ?

The bolt pattern does follow a standard cheese plate layout - should work!
