    Watson DMW-BLF19 reviews

    DMW-BLF19 / BP-61 Lithium-Ion Battery Pack (7.4V, 1750mAh) is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 68.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Do Not Buy this Battery I work as a multimedia instructor at a university, and we recently purchased a large volume of GH3/GH4 cameras for student use. In our equipment room we stock a combination of the Panasonic batteries that came with the cameras and additional Watson batteries we went with to save money. I gave an intro lesson to the GH3 a few weeks ago, and half of my class complained that their batteries had died within 20 minutes of turning on their cameras. Each of them was using a Watson battery; the students with the Panasonic batteries had no issues. Just a moment ago I pulled a Watson battery that had been charging overnight to do some quick shooting, and it was dead in under 15 minutes. This was my inspiration to come here and write this review. Our experience with other Watson products (especially the LP-E5) has been similar - short lifespans and even serious physical deformations (bloating/expanding) that cause batteries to become stuck in the camera. I honestly am baffled by how positive the other reviews are considering how consistently Watson's batteries have under-performed for us.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Would not recommend This battery is not as half solid as the Panasonic one came along with my GH4 camera. The first time I used it, it ran out of battery all of a sudden after about half an hour of use - when on camera screen it says 3/4 full. I thought it was a one time problem so I took it home, charge it, and last week when I used it for the SECOND time, the same problem occurred again, ruining a time-lapse shoot. Don't know if I got a product with defect or that's the way it is. Would highly recommend original Panasonic battery. Having been using it for several months and it never fails me regardless of shooting conditions. It lasts so long that for a couple of months I only used my backup battery twice (both times failed me).

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Aternatves can be Big I decided to go with these batteries in comparison to the OEM's. In part this was to do with costs and my concern with proprietary considerations of the OEM of such battery elements to make the camera work properly. So far I have not had any anomalies w/ such bat's/in my usage of these, other than they give-up sooner than the OEM's do, and what can I suspect? Isn't that why one has more than 1 battery on hand for a shoot? Don't blame the universe for your being a dumb poop when the bat in your camera goes south of the republic of wonders; charge it (and have a back-up too) stupid!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Same as Panasonic battery only cheaper! I use these batteries with my Panasonic Lumix GH4 and they last just as long as the standard issue Panasonic batteries that come with the camera. No complaints. Does its job. I would attribute the long battery life to the efficiency of my camera, not necessarily to the build quality of the battery.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great battery for a great price! I bought two batteries. The Panasonic that came with my GH4 and this Watson battery and they both seem to be about the same in terms of life and quality. The Watson is considerably cheaper, however. I definitely recommend it if you're looking for a less expensive battery.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Battery life is long I was concerned about these batteries based on the review made by the teacher who purchased multiple units and experienced them all failing miserably and all in the same way. However, given the difference in price I thought I would give one a shot and send it back if it didn't work. I tested the battery the moment I received it and it ran well and for a very long time before running out of power. So my verdict is: so far so good. Perhaps the teacher in the previous post was delivered a lemon batch.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Dies on you middle of the shoot. only one bar is gone... right in the middle of an interview. the battery dies. you can use the factory battery on GH4 all day long. I have two of these they last less than half day .. not worth the money you are saving.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great battery, great price. This battery is just as good as the brand name and, at a fraction of the cost, it can't be beat. The power output is nearly identical to the panasonic that it replaces. When I need to get another, this is what I will turn to.
