Mounting hole slots are upside down

The 'keyed' mounting hole slots on the back are facing down, which means it was designed to either be mounted horizontally or upside down in vertical position. This seems like an obviously poor choice / mistake. Was able to get around it by pushing the outlet UP and then setting a screw just beneath the bottom to hold it in this position.

Definitely not. The surge protector is only rated for 110 and plugging it in to a 220 outlet will kill it.
