Well built, wish had less plastic and way to secure to wall

Unit seems well built, though for something ‘Fireproof’ there is a plastic (undocumented) panel on the bottom, the inside of the door is plastic lined, and the keypad surround appears plastic. Guess the expectation is you’ll only be able to open it after a fire with the backup key (assuming the plastics don’t fill/jamb the keyhole). With the plastic inside, it would seem the contents may be plastic encrusted with much heat. Documentation is pretty minimal. Came with what looks like an external battery attachment (assume to enable the keypad if the normal batteries - internally accessed - fail, but nothing mentioned in what is sent. There is also a plastic panel on the bottom, no explanation as to what it is for. Unit is not overly heavy and there isn’t anyway to secure the unit to a wall or floor to deter/delay someone from simply stealing the whole thing. Not a BHPhoto or Barska issue, but when ours arrived the box was half soaked - FedX Ground must have had a leaky truck or left it exposed to rain at some point - the driver left the obviously wet box at the front door and drove off without ringing the doorbell as they normally do (disappointed FedX). The exterior of the safe was wet under the packaging plastic wrap. Wiped it down, let it dry out, didn’t appear any permanent damage. Overall, should deter someone from walking off with something inside, though if they have the opportunity there’s little to prevent them for taking the whole thing. As for fire, it can only help protect the contents, but I’m guessing mileage greatly varies depending on the actual fire.

Great safe but lack an anchor

Overall great and simple for basic needs. 2 pin codes configurable. Lacks a wall Anchorage system. The weight is definitely a factor but kind of sad to not have this basic feature. Made in china

Is this fireproof safe good for digital media? Camera cards, external hard drives, etc?

It is Fireproof for up to one hour at 1700°F so it should be fine for data. However, it would be recommended to store important data off site as a back up such as a cloud service.

Will a security cable fit through the pre-driled holes in the back and bottom?

Can you fit 8½ x 11 documents flat with the door ...

Can you fit 8½ x 11 documents flat with the door fully closed? Specs say 9.5" deep interior but I'm not sure if this accounts for door thickness when closed.
