RODE Deluxe Windshield Overview

The Rode WS8 is a deluxe windshield offering the effective reduction of wind noise in challenging recording conditions for the Rode NT5, NT55, and NT6 small-diaphragm condenser microphones. It also fits any other microphone with a diameter of 20mm and a capsule depth of 27mm.

The WS8 windshield features an open-cell foam surround and an acoustically transparent artificial fur outer layer. Its rubber base prevents wind from entering at the rear of the mic capsule, further minimizing extraneous noise.

Works great and stays on the mic without sliding. The rubber end squishes a bit so I can fit it in the small space I have for it in my camera bag.

Unfortunately the difference in size between the two mics will not allow you to utilize the same windshield for both the VideoMic Pro and NTG2. This is designed for the NTG 1, 2 and 4 microphones. For the VideoMic Pro the Rycote Windjammer is recommended. See B&H # RYMWRVMPR. Rode also overs a slip over windshield designed for the mic. B&H # RODEADCTVMPR
