The 4-Port USB 3.0 PCI Express Controller Card from StarTech adds two external USB 3.0 ports and two internal USB 3.0 motherboard headers to a PCIe-enabled computer system. It also provides support for SuperSpeed USB 3.0 connectivity with data transfer rates of up to 5 Gbps and is backwards compatible with devices that rely on previous USB standards (USB 2.0, 1.x).
The card features a built-in SATA power connector, which when connected to the computer power supply supports delivery of up to 900 mA of power to USB 3.0 devices (500 mA for USB 2.0 devices). Moreover, this PCIe USB 3.0 card is equipped with a full profile bracket and comes with an optional low-profile/half-height bracket, making it a versatile solution that can be installed in either full-sized or small form factor computer cases.Supports SuperSpeed USB 3.0 connectivity with data transfer rates of up to 5 Gbps and 80% more device power delivery than USB 2.0
Features two internal and two external USB 3.0 ports - a versatile solution for adding common USB 3.0 devices (such as hard drive enclosures and more) as well as devices that require an internal system connection (front panel USB 3.0 hubs or card readers)
The PCIe USB 3.0 controller uses a SATA power connector to draw power for compatible devices, as opposed to an LP4 power connector, making it more suitable for newer systems with power supplies that don't offer enough LP4 connectors
Fully compliant with USB 3.0 revision 1.0 specifications and Intel xHCI rev 0.95 specifications
Built-in SATA power connector, which supports power delivery to USB 3.0 devices (up to 900 mA per port)
Backwards compatible with USB 2.0 and USB 1.0/1.1 devices
Compliant with PCIe 2.0 specifications
Comes with a low-profile/half-height installation bracket
